Some basic questions (Part 1)

[It seems my previous message did not go through somehow]

I am the owner of a Pulsar 180, for the last 5 days, and it has been
over 20 years since I last owned a bike.
I am using it to commute to the Rhodesfiled Gautrain station, as bikes
do not need to pay for parking.

I got the bike at a very... very good deal, but it came without an
owners manual, so have some basic questions, where of this is part 1

Question 1:
On the rev counter there are small green blocks between 2 and 5 000
revs. What does this indicate.

Question 2:
What is the best petrol to use? 93 or 95?
