Assalamu alaikum all,
Congratulations again on completing your BAILP projects, mashallah we've seen some fantastic work and you've all shown in your presentations how much you've learnt about running projects so the whole BAILP committee is very proud.
The purpose of BAILP as you know is to train muslim youth who will continue to benefit their community beyond the leadership program, and on a personal level I'm reminded of the hadith (of the meaning) that a day spent helping a fellow muslim is worth more than a significant period of worship. May Allah make myself and all of you of those who are benefiting others.
One very easy way to continue to benefit the community and gain some easy reward is to give back to the BAILP program by helping out as a subcommittee member. There are a number of tasks that require enthusiastic BAILP alumni such as yourselves, and most are roles that have very low time commitment (an average of less than an hour a week) as of course all of you are very busy. These include:
- Projects Committee: help to develop new projects and oversee the running of the projects
- Ops team: a team that helps run the day to day aspects of the saturday sessions and is an opportunity to get to know the amazing guest speakers better
- Alumni subcommitte: a fun group that involves organising an informal dinner or other event for former BAILP students in the middle of the year
- Marketing subcommittee: helping the BAILP Marketing officer promote BAILP in the community
- Finance subcommittee: helping to keep an eye on BAILP's coffers
You can be involved as much or as little as you want, and if you worked well as a project team in 2013 you can continue to work together on one of the above roles. The idea is for you to maintain the habit of being involved in something beneficial for the community.
Please reply back to myself if you are interested in helping out in any one of the above roles, it would be great to have you!
Jazkallah khair for reading, looking forward to your responses!
Wassalam,
Amir Zayegh
