Job Title : Sr DevOps Cloud Engineer With Chef Experience

Location: Plano, TX

Duration: 12+ Months

Job Description:

We are seeking highly creative and intellectually curious Cloud Engineers, at all levels, who are passionate about cutting-edge distributed computing. As part of a team that’s leading the next wave of disruption on a whole new scale, you will play an integral part in advancing Capital One’s Cloud eco-system and culture of technical excellence. You will champion the Cloud Management Platform (CMP), live and breathe Infrastructure Automation, support Hybrid Cloud Solutions, and display a strong understanding of Cloud-as-a-Service varieties: PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS. Creating the next generation of network-centric Cloud architectures, you will make a key contribution supporting end-to-end public Cloud Automation of application delivery, including Infrastructure provisioning and integration with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) platforms, using existing and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience moving infrastructure to the Cloud!

Responsibilities:

We are looking for Overall 10+ years of experience

3+ years of experience in Chef

-     Develop procedures to automate various systems and tasks (e.g. automating code builds and deployments), promotion of new DevOps tools to simplify build process and entire continuous delivery pipeline
-     Responsible for the day-to-day operations of all in-house developed, open source, and commercial DevOps tooling owned by the team (Ensuring system availability, performance, capacity, and monitoring through proper response to incidents, events and problems)
-     Employ innovative solutions to ease developer and testing experience
-     Manage a continuous integration and deployment environment
-     Help the team design and test scalable systems
-     Clearly communicate technical information to both developers and business stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
-     Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
-     At least 1 year experience with scripting languages Bash, Ruby, Python or Perl or power shell scripting
-     At least 2 years of experience working with DevOps tools and Configuration Management/Orchestration technologies lDocker, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Chef or Terraform
-     At least 2 years of experience in Build and CI/CD/CT technologies SVN, Git, Maven, Artifactory, Bamboo, Hudson/Jenkins, Atlas, Nexus, CucuWmber or Sonar
Preferred Qualifications:
-     3 years of experience automating tasks including software deployments and auto-scaling AWS applications
-     3 years’ experience in DSC & Windows scripting
-     3 years of experience monitoring production systems to ensure availability, performance, capacity, and incident response with tools lSplunk, HPSM, BlueStripe, CloudWatch, Zabbix or Hystrix
-     1 year experience with AWS multi-region and multi-AZ deployed systems
-     2 years of experience with App servers IIS administration and Microsoft platform
-     1 year experience with windows systems administration and working knowledge Active Directory
-     1 year experience with Agile methodologies lScrum, SAFe and Kanban
-     1 year of experience in developing RESTful APIs using Spring or Jersey
-     1 year experience with Database technologies RDBMS, SQL, NO-SQL, RDS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and DynamoDB
-     1 year experience in Quality Assurance technologies lATDD, SOAP UI, Selenium/Webdriver, Protractor, TestNG, Jmeter or Postman
-     Certified in MS Azure or AWS
