Aryan has Smooth Confidence heading into ADRL Round 6
DOHA, Qatar (February 2, 2011) - B1 Racing Pro Extreme driver Ali Aryan has smooth confidence. A veteran of multiple kinds of racing, the Bahraini drag racer is anxious to make a good showing at this week's Arabian Drag Racing League 6th Round of competition in the Championship Series at Qatar Racing Club, and is confident that his crew chief, Rick Hickman, has made any adjustments necessary to get him down the eighth-mile track in good time.
"We ran really well in testing today," Aryan said. "We weren't pushing it at all and put up a 3.75-second pass. That's a big improvement over the last race when we had trouble getting down the track at all."
Both Aryan and his teammate Josh Hernandez failed to qualify for eliminations in Round 5, definitely an uncharacteristic performance for the talent-laden team.
"Of course, we want to qualify and go rounds this week, but we are also looking to get more data to help tune the car. Every time we make a lap, Rick can look and learn from what happens.
"We've got a great wealth of tuning talent on our team to draw from to find more power - from Jim Oddy to Pat Musi to Troy Critchley and more. We all work together, and that's what will make the difference for us in the next three races.
"We are definitely ok for qualifying this week, and I am sure Rick has a lot of power he can bring up in the qualifying laps and on race day. I'm sure everything will go smoothly for our whole team tomorrow," Aryan said.
Qualifying for the ADRL Round 6 event is scheduled for Thursday and Friday afternoon, followed by eliminations Friday evening.
