Aryan riding momentum heading into ADRL Round 7 at QRC

DOHA, Qatar (February 9, 2011) - B1 Racing Pro Extreme driver Ali Aryan is still riding high after setting his personal quickest time during qualifying for last week's Arabian Drag Racing League Championship Series Round 6, and the Bahraini native is looking to keep his momentum heading into this week's Round 7 action at Qatar Racing Club in Doha.

During qualifying for Round 6, Aryan drove the B1 Racing '69 Camaro to a blistering 3.626-seconds at 206.83 mph.

"After working so hard this season to develop our program, it's hard to describe the good feelings after we ran the 3.62 last week. Rick Hickman [Crew Chief] has really got a great handle on the car, and we're ready to keep the momentum this week," Aryan said.

"We were hoping we would get a chance to do some testing, but the weather didn't cooperate, so we'll just head out on Thursday and work on qualifying for this week's show."

Testing was cancelled on Wednesday due to excessive wind and sand in the region - a common occurrence in that part of the world, where the temperatures and conditions mirror the desert southwest in the United States.

"The car is running really well, and the as long as the wind goes away, the weather and air conditions should be really similar to last week when we ran well, so I'm very confident," Aryan added.

Weather permitting, three rounds of qualifying are scheduled for Thursday beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, and one final round of qualifying on Friday, followed by eliminations for the eight-car fields.
