ALCOA, Tenn. (September 21, 2011) - Members of the B1 Racing Pro Extreme team spent the day Wednesday with students of Northview Elementary (Kodak, Tenn.) and nearby Alcoa Elementary schools discussing the excitement of professional racing and the safety aspects associated with the operating of vehicles both on and off the track.
Students got a close-up look at the Pro Extreme Corvette campaigned by B1 Racing in ADRL competition as well as the safety equipment that protects it's driver, Joshua Hernandez.
"It is so great to see the eyes of these young kids light up when they see something like this for the first time," crew chief Rick Hickman commented.
"The children have great questions and it is a pleasure to be able to share the racing experience with them," he said.
And racing experience is something Hickman is no stranger to. His racing resume spans decades and has notable entries from top race teams across the country and around the world.
The experience continues for the B1 Racing team this weekend as competition in the ADRL Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags commences in Norwalk, Ohio. For more information and live timing, video and results, visit www.adrl.us.
