Very interested in Laser Bahia. Have owned Sunfish, Force Five ( AMF product similar to Laser), Hobie 16 and Columbia 26. It has been 15 years since I've had a boat. We recently moved to Orange Beach, AL located on the Gulf of Mexico so I need a boat I can launch and sail single handed if necessary. Used to sail the Hobie 16 single but it was a chore to right by yourself. I don't understand about the "dolly" having to fit on a trailer and how the Bahia has to be supported on a trailer differently than a regular boat. I like every single thing I've read about it but I need to launch from a boat launch and be able to step the mast alone like I did with the Hobie. Is it possible? A cat was fun but I missed the other points of sail other than a broad reach like the apparent wind you generated on a Hobie always had you sailing. I also need to find a dealer in the Alabama, Florida that actually has a Bahia in stock. Thanks for any help. I' m too old to fly a hull alone if I mess up but I think the Bahia reaching under genaker would be awesome.
