boat cover

Hi All,

I hope everyone is getting a lot of use out of their Bahias. I
certainly am enjoying mine. I joke with my wife that I am working
hard to get the cost-per-sail down.

I bought a boat cover from Laser Performance that I thought was going
to be made for mast-up, over-the-boom. While the construction seems
reasonably sturdy, it is one of the more complicated covers I have
seen, and it turns out to be only mast up, so I have to rig and un-rig
the boom every sail, and the cover tends to pool water when it rains.
If anyone finds a source for a good mast-up over-the-boom top cover
for the Bahia, I would love to hear about it.

Oh bugger,

 

I have just heard that my "mast up" cover has just arrived as well. Sounds like it might be a bit of a waste of time. Annoying since it certainly was not cheap! Perhaps a bit of chopping to insert extra material would help get it over the boom? More later after some experimentation. Meanwhile, with further house guests, and then a series of thunderstorms, the sailing has been very limited this last two weeks - but tomorrow looks rather special :)

Hi Dave,

I wouldn't say that it is bad, just that it is not quite what I was
expecting or hoped. It still protects a lot of the boat.
