Good morning everyone. I hope this email finds you well.

As a quick update, thanks to all of you who participated in and donated to the 2021 BAH ride. We were able to raise ~$35K, making our total over the past 19 years  $1,241,900!!! That is quite an accomplishment and we greatly appreciate it.

For this year's ride - which marks our 20th Anniversary - with COVID-19 on the downswing and many places opening back up, we plan on providing an in person ride again this year (kind of a "back to normal" approach). We will ALSO support the hybrid ride we have run over the past couple of years, meaning you are welcome to ride on your own or with a smaller group in lieu of the in person. Of course, we will also support the Canal Path Ride/Run/Walk (thanks to Denny Rodgers for continuing this on)!

We should have the registration page up and running by mid-May, but in the meantime please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and if you are interested in participating and how.

Regards,

Charlie

Hello everyone. You may have heard through other ways but Charlie asked me to communicate to you through this distribution that his mother Pam died in the hospital on August 19th.  Pam will be buried in Arlington with Chuck. Charlie is sorting through things and he will update us further on everything.

May God rest the soul of Pam and please add Pam, Charlie, Katie and the Inman family to your prayers.

It would be truly lovely to have some sort of gathering to honor Pam and the entire battle over all these 20 years.
I’d love to help plan something.
xx

I wholeheartedly agree, Cathy.  I'd been thinking about a reunion gathering sometime after this year's ride, but hadn't begun planning yet.  Now we have just that much more reason to gather.  I would love your help and will reach out soon.
Faithfully,
Phyllis

Hey BAH Family,
My heart is breaking with yours as we mourn the loss of Pam but celebrate a life well lived. What a loving giving person. She and Chuck are having a joyous reunion in heaven now.
I'll be in Nova Scotia through Mid October except for a couple of weeks for training before I rejoin the ship. I intend to register and riding remotely here in Nova Scotia with renewed vigor to honor Pam (and Chuck, and Charlie, and YOU ALL).
Chris Albe sent me Pam's obituary which I think came through "Caring Bridge". Here it is for those who haven't seen it.

Obituary Please share your favorite memory of Pamela to be included in a special keepsake book for the family. View Tribute Book Our beloved Pam (Geepa) went home to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of the morning of August 19, 2022. She died peacefully in Fairfax, Virginia. A resident of Virginia for many years during her adult life and again at the end of her life, Pam was an immeasurable blessing to countless people, and she was truly unique to all of us. She was born in Whittier, California, to loving parents and an older brother, all of whom adored her for her sweet, gentle, thoughtful spirit. Her father’s job took the family all over the world, including to Puerto Rico, where she grew up. For the rest of her life, she had a heart for Spanish-speaking people and loved recounting stories and speaking with people in Spanish. Pam married Charles (“Chuck”) Priestley Inman, Jr. in 1970, after meeting him when the two were students at the University of Richmond, where Pam graduated with honors. Chuck’s career took the couple to many locations, including Austin, Texas where they had their son, Houston, Texas, Miami, Florida, back to Richmond and more recently to Princeton, New Jersey. Later in life, she took mission trips with Chuck and their church to Honduras, where she used her passion for Christ and love of children to sponsor several children and assist teams by translating conversations and teaching children. In every place Pam lived, she developed meaningful relationships, due to her caring, thoughtful spirit. Pam greeted everyone she encountered with a smile, a warm welcome, and a genuine happiness about seeing them. Instead of speaking of herself, she preferred to inquire about others and genuinely learn about and care for them. She had a heart for children and, at certain times in her life, instructed preschool-age children, all of whom she blessed with her patient, gentle nature. Most of all, Pam was well-known to select beautiful greeting cards and pen lengthy, heartfelt messages to friends and family. She did this with such frequency that many often wondered how she could accomplish it. She took joy in doing it. She was instrumental in assisting Chuck with the Battle Against Hunger, an organization that she and Chuck began alongside close friends in 2002. Pam volunteered countless hours and joined Chuck in ensuring that the organization could bless as many people as possible, via donations that go directly to organizations such as soup kitchens, shelters, and places the Lord uses to bless the least of these. After Chuck’s untimely, sudden death in 2014, Pam sought to continue blessing the organization. Pam’s Christian faith was her foundation. She was undoubtedly secure in knowing that, once the Lord called her home, she would joyfully arrive at heaven’s gate to meet her departed husband and others about whom she cared. Attending church services and consistently learning Scripture gave Pam joy. Given her sweet, peaceful spirit, it is not surprising that she often leaned on Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know that I am God.” Pam is survived by her son, Charlie Inman (Katie), granddaughter Sydney and grandson Andrew, her brother, Douglass Buss, sister-in-law, Barbara Buss, and Chuck’s sister, Carol. Her nieces and nephew also held a special place in her heart. A memorial service will occur at Greenspring Chapel on the campus of Greenspring Senior Living Community in Springfield, Virginia, on September 11, 2022 at 2pm. Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with Chuck.

I'd love to be at any reunion celberation if possible. I know Ti (Pam's Birthday Buddy) and Robin would love to join in as well.

Love to all!

All the Best,
Tom

May God grant us all enough love to overcome hate, faith to overcome fear,
wisdom to overcome ignorance, action to overcome paralysis.

Good evening,

Twenty years ago , Chuck asked for people to ride to Gettysburg as the Battle Against Hunger ride began.   Beside him , encouraging him and supporting him was Pam.   Her quiet, gentle and capable nature was often overshadowed by the love of her life.  Once a person got to know Pam fully , it was evident that her strengths were incredible & indescribable.   We can honestly say we have not met a more peace filled, grace filled, and faith filled Christian women.  Her priority was God , family and friends.  She immersed herself with who ever she was spending her time with , as though there were no other cares in the world.    She poured her energy into causes that she felt strongly about. Her love of nature and animals helped to bring joy to her as well.
All of us are better people, given the blessing of being beside her during our time with the Battle Against Hunger.
Pam, you are missed …. Our love and memories uphold us today and
all days……
Love,
Ginny & Ron

Addendum :
St Matthew’s Church was a very special space for Chuck and Pam.
Chuck organized & lead the acolytes for many years.  Pam was active in singing in the Saturday evening services.   Both Chuck and Pam went on mission trips, in addition to offering many other gifts of time and talent.    We would like to honor Chuck and Pam  by giving each of them a memorial stone that will be engraved in the newly rededicated Memorial Garden at St Matthew’s.
Attached below is a link to the garden.   If you would like to make a donation toward the stones & engraving, it would be greatly appreciated.   A check can be made out to St Matthew’s Episcopal Church.    Please mail the check to :

I am happy to answer any questions about the costs  & will keep you up to date on the progress of the garden stones.
