I received my dragon cover several weeks ago, just before Oberon started sending them with matching pewter buttons for each particular design. Mine has a carved Celtic knot, but the newer dragon covers come with a dragon themed closure button, and each other cover style come with a similarly designed to the central theme carved button.
On the outside, my cover looks the same as one with the corner straps system would. When opened, a card with a spare elastic band is tucked into the left. On the right is a sheet with the covers specifications with printed installation instructions on its back.
Beautiful covers. As you have both for Kindle 1 and Kindle 2, do you think I could use one for both. I only put my kindles in a case for traveling and it would be nice to just have one that would fit both versions depending on which Kindle was coming with me that day.
@Patricia I found the leather to be way too stiff to fold back on itself. I could force it, but then it would feel uncomfortable to hold the cover that way. Maybe they have started using thinner leather since we posted that review.
One leather brand that I have always been curious about and hankered after is Oberon. I have never seen one in real life, so I do not know how they look or feel in reality. But I have always loved the colours, the clasps, the designs, the themes and the wide range of different products. My favourite theme is red roses, with a rose-shaped pewter clasp.
I do like the Oberon Site because it is easy to browse and find information, even as a beginner. In addition to the usual tabs, they also have sections for seconds, samples, and reissues of popular designs.
Thank you for posting this and reminding me of the amazing Oberon Design company. I pulled out my mini card wallet and started using it again. I also ordered some other things from their website and the quality is just as good or better than it was 15 years ago.
We present the design of the Hades coprocessor board, which uses the new XC6200 FPGA family from Xilinx. The board contains a single XC6216 with 6464 cells and 256 KB of fast local memory. It is accessed from the host (an ETH Ceres-2 workstation) via a conventional memory interface. A complete listing of the logic necessary to interface the XC6216 FPGA is presented in the Lola HDL. Especially for readers new to the field of hardware design, we report on our experiences during the development of the board.

Look for an object or take a close look at an extended emission nebula - a wide field of view is tailor-made for this. When looking through an 82 Oberon eyepiece, you get the impression of being immersed in space - also known as the 'space-walk' effect. You seem to be able to meander through the universe with your eye alone, and without seeing the edge of the field of view of the eyepiece.
Planetary and deep space eyepiece
High light transmission, clever optical design and baffles mean this eyepiece has 'professional level' contrast. The eyepiece is hence an excellent choice for both planetary and DSO observing. Save yourself having to constantly change eyepieces and spend more time observing the object.
Lasting quality - waterproof and nitrogen-filled
Oberon eyepieces are extremely elegant - they are anodized and look good in any telescope. But the best thing is that they are also water-proof and nitrogen-filled. This provides an enormous advantage when looking after them - you can clean the housing and the lenses with water and hence free the optical elements of grease and dirt.
This is easy with the Oberon eyepieces as no moisture can get into them.
The Oberon series
