Take an inventory of your own clothes closet. What does it contain?
What do you wear to class? What do you wear to go out shopping? What
do you wear on a night out with friends? After viewing and analyzing
your typical clothing, write a paragraph explaining your discoveries.
Why did you choose the clothes that you did? Do you dress for
yourself? Do your clothing choices send messages to other people? Do
you dress for how you will be seen?

As I was looking through my closet I noticed that I do not wear the
same things to school as I would on a night with my friends. I also
noticed that for different occasions I wear different clothes. For
example, if I was going out to dinner with my family I would wear a
nice shirt and nice pants but if I was going out with my friends I
would probably wear jeans with a tank top or a casual shirt. I have
many different styles of clothes for many different occasions. This is
because the clothes I wear send different messages to different
people. My family expects me to be the best I can be so I would
obviously wear clothes that are appropriate and send a good message.
My friends don't really care what I look like so on a lazy night I may
just wear sweatpants or a sweatshirt depending on what we are doing. I
think that most people dress for what they are doing and they put that
and who they will be seeing all into account before getting ready in
the morning because they want to send the right message to a person. I
know that is what I do.

Looking through my closet I see clothes that reflect all different styles and occasions. For example, I see clothes that I often wore in middle school that I wouldn't be caught dead wearing today as a junior in high school. I also realize that at that point in time, there is a chance that i may have dressed with other people's opinion of me in mind rather than my own.  Despite the fact that I have always been the type of person who expresses themselves through clothing, now a days I dress for myself. I choose the close i wear in order to express who I am rather than who others want me to be. To answer the question I would say that no I do not dress for anyone but myself, but i do tend to wear clothes that send messages about myself and who I am to those around me. For example, I wear bright colors and designs that catch people's eyes in order to show others that I am a fun loving, outgoing person. I try to portray my personality through my clothing. I also realized that my clothes often impact the mood I am in. The pattern I have discovered is if i don't like what I am wearing, or  don't feel good about my outfit choice on a certain day, I'm often in a bad mood because of it. As I always say, to look good, is to feel good.

As i look go threw my closet, i see a lot of different types of
clothes. There are the set that i wear to school on the average day.
That assortment contains jeans, a polo shirts and some
sweatshirts. When i get dressed for school, i kind of care about what
other people think of my clothes. The things that I wear to school
now, is pretty much the same that I wear when i go out with my
friends. Then there is the set that i had to wear to school everyday
when i went to Xavier. Shirts and ties, and the nice paints. When i
went there, i never had that on when i went out with my friends,
also, know one cared how you looked because you all had the same
things on.

While I looked in the closet, I realized the different types of clothes I had in there for different occasions. For example, I usually wear a pair of jeans and put on a decent/comfortable shirt while I go to school so it looks appropriate and I'm prepared to learn without any distractions. I usually wear the same type of clothes while I go to shopping too because I'm in public and I wouldn't want to go out with my sleeping clothes. I try to wear clothes that I look good in while I'm in front of many people because I think it shows respect and the majority of the people prefer to hang out with those individuals. For instance, when I go to formal parties, I don't wear shorts or jeans because I think that would be considered rude. I wear a suit in those type of parties to show manners and show that I appreciate the people that are in that party. However, if I'm on a night out with my friends, I wouldn't really wear formal clothes because I would be around people that I see every day and people that I can joke around with. Therefore, I believe I wear clothing depending on where I am and the people that I'm around with. So I think I dress for both myself and how I will be seen in front of different people because clothing plays a role in how people express themselves in front of others.

As i was looking through my closet i found that it contained a lot of
clothes that i wear to school everyday and the same things i wear when
with my friends. The simple t-shirt and jeans and shorts and
occasionally a sweatshirt. A few jackets and hats. I choose the
clothes that i wear on some level to show that i care what people
think because i wouldn't want to come to school in a spongebob shirt
and shorts but i also wear these things because that is what i like to
wear. I think they represent who i am as a person and show everybody
that i am who i am.

Upon looking through my closet, I noticed that I have many clothes
which can be thrown together in a variety of ways to fit any
occasion. It is clear that I always try to look my best for school so
that I make a favorable impression on my peers and teachers. However,
on a more laid back night with my friends, I may dress for comfort,
wearing sweatpants and an old sweatshirt is not uncommon for a night
with my friends. On the other hand, when going out with my family or
with other people, I always try to look presentable in some way so
that people like me. This shows that how we dress has a huge
influence on how others see us and their impressions of us. While I
like to consider myself an individual and that I have my own style, it
is clear that the way we dress is an important way people view us in
society.

My day to day clothing choices remain relatively consistent, because of the given selection in my closet. Containing cloths, hats and pants form most of the same popular stores, it's no surprise that I have kept a similar style for most settings. When making purchases, I typically go for the brighter colors, feeling that it partially demonstrates who I am (not to say clothing creates a person, but it can make an distinct impression on others). I will often dress in a similar fashion to what I wear with friends or out in the general public. This choice is mainly because I prefer to dress on the nicer side, feeling that it looks better, and as a method of expression. In this sense I am dressing to satisfy myself and to appeal to those around me, specifically friends. Overall, I dress the distinct way I do because it gives me enjoyment.

As I went through my closet I realized that my outfit choices really reflected on where I'm going. To school I usually throw on whatever seams easiest in the morning. The fact that I'm so tired each morning really reflects on my outfit choice. When I go shopping I tend to pick something a little more reasonable just because numerous people you've never seen before are going to be looking at you. People are so quick to judge at first glace so I try to look as presentable as possible. When I'm out with my friends I always try to look my best just because my friends are always so well put together. If they wore sweats or clothes not as nice as they usually do I probably would as well. I think I dress to feel comfortable and presentable and even though I hate to admit it, I dress for other people as well. I'm always worried about what others are going to think even though I know I shouldn't.

When I went through my closet I saw that I have a lot of different types of clothes. I also noticed that some thing I wear to school aren't things i would wear out to dinner a night with friends or doing something nice with my family. During school I like to try and dress comfortable because I am in the same outfit for 7 hours but I also want to dress myself appropriately to give teachers and other students the right message. When I go out with my friends some nights, depending on what we do, I try to dress nice going out somewhere. but when I am just with all my friends hanging out, I don't dress to give a message because me friends already know excalty who I am. Yes I do think that sometimes i dress to give people the right message of who I am because how a person dresses shows a lot about them.

As I was looking through my closet I noticed that I have many different selections of clothes that I can choose from. My closet contains nice dress shirts and pants for special occasions and then I have t-shirts, hoodies, jeans and sweatpants for school. To class, I usually try to look as presentable as possible wearing jeans and a zip up sweatshirt or a long sleeve. I also feel the same way about when I'm going out in public to go shopping or what not because I wouldn't feel comfortable around others if I was wearing my pjs. If I was just hanging out with my friends at their house or mine then I usually just wear a hoodie and sweatpants, but if we are going out somewhere nice  then I will dress up. I choose the clothes that I said above because I care about how other people and peers see me, therefore I do dress for how I will be seen. For example, if I wear a hoodie and sweatpants one day then my hair has to look okay. I think the way you dress really reveals who you are as a person and shows your personality more. I think my clothing style sends a message to other people to show that I wear plain and simple clothes and I don't wear bright, extravagant colors.

But if I was going out to dinner with my family or friends, then I would want to look nice and wear nice clothes. I think that I dress for myself because it makes me happy but I also dress for others because many people judge you based on the way you look.

As I go through my closet I see a lot of clothes that could be a possibility that I could choose to wear the next day. Some of my clothes only get worn on certain days of the year and others get worn almost every week. Some days of the year i wear jeans and a sweatshirt to school and other days I would wear shorts and a short sleave shirt. Some days I take 10 seconds to decide on what to wear, and other days I would choose which shirt or sweatshirt goes good with these shorts. It all depends on how I feel and what is going on during school. When I go out somewhere I usually dress the way I always do. I go out with clean clothes and try to make them look good together; so I send a good message to everyone I encounter. My clothing choices do send messages to other people because they say that I care how I look. I just dont throw on random clothes. I make sure they all look good and can represent me very well.

I looked through my closet and found most I usually wear to school. Some I wear for special occasions like holidays, or going out to nice restaurants. I wear the same clothes I would wear to school out shopping. To be honest, I've chosen these clothes because they are "what everyone else is wearing" and because they do look good on me. I dress for both myself...and sometimes other people. I like to wear what's comfortable, and I wont wear anything tight. Sometimes I do worry what others think about my clothes, but then I forget about that after a while. I wouldn't think my clothing sends a message, or at least it sends the message that this is Morrisa. I like to be what I dress, and sometimes I try to impress people. I think everyone does that even if they think they don't.

After looking in my closet i realize i have alot of clothes. Every day
i wear something different. Some clothes i wear out with friends and
others i wear to school. In the morning while getting dressed i care
about how i look. To school i usually wear average clothes like jeans
and a t shirt or sweat shirt. But out with people, i'll wear nicer
shorts and a shirt. people dont judge the way i look i think most
people thinks its normal.

Looking through my closet, I really have no huge variety in what I wear. And this is because I just dress so that I'm physically comfortable in what I'm wearing. Usually this is just a simple pair of shorts with either a t-shirt or a sweatshirt over that. I definitely don't dress for others for two reasons. The first reason is that I simply just don't see the point in that. The other is that if you're going to judge me merely on what I'm wearing before you even speak to me, then why would I want to talk to you anyways? That pretty much sums everything up.

My closet contains multiple outfits from looking casual, to dressing up very formally. What I wear to school depends on the type of mood I am in that day. If I am feeling very tired, I may just wear yogas and a sweatshirt to act comfy and cozy as my bed would feel while sleeping in it. On the other hand, when I go out to shop, I wear clothes that are my style so when looking for an outfit and need help, I can show the store owner how I look and what my style is. When going out with friends, I dress depending on where we are going. If it is just a friends house then I will wear anything from jeans to sweatpants. If we are going out to dinner to a nice restaurant, for instance the Cheesecake Factory, I will dress more appropriately for that setting. I dress myself and dress according to how I am feeling, what season it is, and to express my style. If I am in a happy mood I tend to wear more vibrant colors. Also, I wear my favorite colors. You will never catch me wearing bright neon yellows because one, that is my least favorite color, and two it doesn't look good on me. I dress also to impress others. I want people having a positive view towards me as a teenager and as a student. For example, Sunday I went to an open house for Scranton University. I dressed appropriate and I also dressed to impress. In other words, I dolled myself up. I wanted professors there and other students to know who I am and how I can act professionally when the time is needed, yet I still have the sense of appropriateness.

As I look through my closet, I notice that what I wear depends on the
places that I go. Clothes I wear to school can sometimes be a lot
different than what I wear when I'm out with my family or friends.
When I go to school, a lot of times I will just wear sweatpants and a
sweatshirt, or jeans a shirt. But when I go out with my friends, it
really depends on what we are doing. If we are just hanging out at
someone's house for the night, I will probably just wear sweats
because my friends and I don't care what one another wears. But if we
are going out, then I would most likely wear jeans and a nice shirt.
When I do things with my family like going out to dinner, or going to
a family party I have to look appropriate and nice, but I can still
look casual. I will probably wear a nice shirt and a nice pair of
jeans or leggings. Everything you wear depends on the places you are
going and reflects upon the person you are.

After looking through my closet, i came to conclusion that i do dress up more when i'm going out, but to school and being around friends i can careless what i look like. i don't dress to impress one bit. i mostly have sweatshirts, yoga pants, and sweatpants. unlike some girls that come to school always looking nice and dressed up with a dressy top, and skirt or something. when i'm going to school i'll wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt or jeans. when i'm going out somewhere like out to dinner, i'll wear a dressy top with leggings and heels, or nice boots. overall, i dress for myself and my clothing does send a message to other people because people will talk to me and say "i wish i dressed like you everyday, you look so comfortable. you don't care what people think of you." and it's mostly true. why should i have to dress up to impress people? it's just school.
