===========================================

Gathering training requirements is more than just making a list of
topics and audience schedules. A clear understanding of the desired
outcomes, the audience's baseline knowledge level, and the available
infrastructure is all required in order to effectively identify and
close the knowledge gap. BAs working on implementation projects are
often tasked with identifying training requirements and for many this
can be a tricky job. People often assume that training is an 'end of
the project' activity, especially in system implementations where the
application may not be stable until the last minute. While the actual
training may not take place until near the end of the project, you need
to know what the training requirements will be and plan for them
throughout the project, the same way that you do for other business
requirements. This article will document some of the questions to ask
when developing training requirements, as well as answers to those
questions and tips for avoiding common pitfalls.
