Dear Supporters of the Right to Vote:
We need your help to invalidate Pennsylvania’s new restrictive voter ID law!
We are looking for people in Pennsylvania who currently do not have acceptable ID. Even though the Department of State has indicated that if you were ever in PennDOT’s database you can get an ID, a lot of voters may not be able to vote because of this law. Some of those people include voters who never had a driver’s license, or other ID from PennDOT; students who go to school in PA from out of state and don’t have a PA driver’s license. Also, veterans ID will not be accepted nor will a veterans’ spouse or dependent ID be valid because those IDs don’t have an expiration date. There are other groups of people who are likely to be affected, including transgender voters whose names and photos won’t match their records.
It’s very important and URGENT that we find people who don’t have ID. If you think you don't have the right kind of ID or someone you know doesn’t have an acceptable photo ID, please contact ACLU of PA at 717-238-2258 or Voterid@aclupa.org.
We need to hear from you as soon as possible, by this week. Please feel free to forward this information.
Thanks for all of your help protecting Pennsylvania voters!
Sincerely,
Marian K. Schneider
