Im "owner" of a few pages on our wiki, but no longer want to receive notifications on page changes. When I click the watch "eyeball" at the top of the page, it says "You are not watching this page" so I assume I'm getting them because I'm owner.
Is there any way to turn off page edit notifications as an owner?
Just wanting to bump this question as three years later, this is still relevant: On Confluence pages that I created but that I am not watching, I unwantedly receive notifications if someone edits them (did find an option to disable emails for this, though). I would be glad if someone could point out how this can be disabled.
@Sandro BrkiUnfortunately, it has been a while since I changed the setting and looking over the options, I am not sure which one was the relevant one. But I added a screenshot of my settings, maybe this helps you figure out what the relevant option is.
I hope this works for me because I have 230 pages in this overview with 20 Confluence pages each, apparently every page I have ever touched in the last 3 years since starting at this company. As we very recently migrated I sincerely hope it does work. I would actually be happy enough to find the couple of pages that have been heavily edited since the migration but there seems to be no sorting or filtering feature here. So I guess I'll just unwatch 230 x 20 pages manually.
Uhl - Just stop watching the page. Even if you created it if you no longer want to receive notifications on it is all you have to do is stop watching the page. You can also view all the pages you are watching in your profile under Watches to make adjustments.
Okay, I just found the Page Watches section. I'd never have thought to look at My Profile to do something like that! ?
IMO this should be available from the page's Watches dropdown or provide a "Stop watching this page" option from the notification itself!
Sound notifications for Front can be turned on/off in your computer settings. Instructions differ if you are using the Front desktop app on Mac or Windows, or if you are using a web-based version of Front.
Navigate to the Program Events section, select Notification. Then, in the dropdown list in the Sounds section, select (None) if you want to disable the sound, or alternatively select a different sound from the list if you want to change the sound. You may also use the Browse button to navigate to your own sound.
Then, you will have to enable system notifications for your browser of choice in your Mac/Windows settings. You can follow the same steps as Mac desktop app and Windows desktop app but for your browser application instead of the Front application.
Hello - I can't seem to turn off gestures on My Mac. I have gone through settings and everything is unchecked. I took a screenshot to show this but can't upload here. If I raise my thumb even by accident a thumb bubble arrives on my screen. Then my video freezes but my audio continues. The only option is to unplug my camera and plug it back in. The equipment I am using is a Sony a6400 camera with HDMI out into a Elgato Camlink 4k and then USB into my Mac. This has only just started and I'm getting really frustrated with it as I also tend to "talk with my hands" so to speak.. I am on the latest version of software for Zoom and also Mac OS. Please help. Thank you.
Yes of course. "Zoom Web Portal" means just that, sign in to your Zoom account on the web (in a browser of your choice), not within the Zoom app. Signing in as an admin means that you have ownership and administrator roles for your account: if you have a single account for yourself you have admin privileges for your account. If you use Zoom Rooms in an office setting where multiple people use the same Zoom Account, you must be the one with admin privileges (i.e. one of the ones who control the account and can alter settings). So if you are an individual, you simply sign into your account with your user name and password (on the web within a browser!) and go from there.
Thank you for your detailed explanation, it really helped. However, I unchecked everything to do with reactions and sorry to say it didn't work. It's a shame you can't accept screenshots so I could show you the steps I took. Maybe the inclusion of being able to upload photos should be added to this help service. The only other way is to make a short video, upload it to YouTube under unlisted and post the link in one of these messages? I really need to sort this.
If you're experiencing difficulty turning off Gestures on your Mac, there might be a few ways to address this. Have you tried going to System Preferences > Trackpad and adjusting the settings there to disable gestures? Additionally, ensuring that any third-party applications or accessibility features aren't conflicting with these settings might help. If the issue persists, restarting your Mac or reaching out to Apple Support for further guidance could assist in resolving the problem.
3. **Disable Gestures:** Within the Trackpad settings, you'll find various options for gestures. Uncheck the boxes next to the gestures you want to disable. You can disable gestures like swiping between pages, Mission Control, App Expos, etc., depending on your preference.
4. **Adjust More Settings (Optional):** Additionally, you might find more detailed gesture settings or customization options within the "More Gestures" tab. Explore these settings to further adjust or disable specific gestures.
If you're still experiencing issues turning off gestures, it's possible that some applications or settings might be overriding your preferences. In such cases, restarting your Mac or checking for any third-party applications that control gestures might help resolve the issue.
I don't think that Mossman1 is talking about what Apple calls "Gestures" -- Gestures are the things that happen when using a Trackpad. I believe he's referring to what Apple calls "Reactions" -- the things that happen when you use certain hand movements while you're using FaceTime or Zoom or another similar application, like a ThumbsUp, Two ThumbsUp, ThumbsDown, PeaceSigns, etc. to show things like balloons, fireworks, rain, etc during video calls. So giving Mossman1 instructions for turning of Gestures won't help with his issue...
Please take a look at the attached screenshot 1 to see what is happening. I use a Mac mini with Apple silicon M2 and Sonoma 14.2.1 - The screenshot is from a Zoom call I created and raised my thumb. Also if I raise 2 thumbs, I get Fireworks - See screenshot 2. I want neither of these as they seem to auto generate, especially if I am using my hands to describe something. The first question is........ Is the Mac generating these as a free plug in with the latest software when using a camera? or is it Zoom? Thank you.
When collaborating on an Excel workbook, you may want to keep track of the changes that have been made to it. This could be especially useful when the document is almost finished and your team is making the final revisions.
On a printed copy, you could use a red pen to mark edits. In an Excel file, you can review, accept or reject changes electronically by using the Track Changes feature specially designed for it. Furthermore, you can monitor the latest changes by using the Watch Window.
By using the built-in Track Changes in Excel, you can easily review your edits directly in the edited worksheet or on a separate sheet, and then accept or reject each change individually or all changes at a time. To use the Excel tracking feature most effectively, there are a few points for you to remember.
Excel's Track Changes works only in shared workbooks. So, whenever your turn on tracking in Excel, the workbook becomes shared, meaning that multiple users can make their edits simultaneously. That sounds great, but sharing a file has its drawbacks too. Not all Excel features are fully supported in shared workbooks including conditional formatting, data validation, sorting and filtering by format, merging cells, to name a few. For more information, please see our Excel shared workbook tutorial.
2. Track Changes cannot be used in workbooks that contain tablesIf the Track Changes button is unavailable (grayed out) in your Excel, most likely your workbook contains one or more tables or XML maps, which are not supported in shared workbooks. In that case, convert your tables to ranges and remove XML maps.
3. It's not possible to undo changes in ExcelIn Microsoft Excel, you cannot revert the worksheet back in time by undoing changes like you can do in Microsoft Word. Excel's Track Changes is rather a log file that records information about the changes made to a workbook. You can manually review those changes and choose which ones to keep and which ones to override.
4. Not all changes are tracked in ExcelExcel does not track every single change. Any edits you make to cell values are tracked, but some other changes like formatting, hiding/unhiding rows and columns, formula recalculations are not.
5. Change history is kept for 30 days by defaultBy default, Excel keeps the change history for 30 days. If you open an edited workbook, say, in 40 days, you will see the change history for all 40 days, but only until you close the workbook. After closing the workbook, any changes older than 30 days will be gone. However, it's possible to change the number of days for keeping change history.
How to track changes in ExcelNow that you know the basics of Excel Track Changes, let's talk about how to enable and use this feature in your worksheets.
If prompted, allow Excel to save your workbook, and you are done!Excel will highlight edits by different users in different colors as shown in the next section. Any new changes will be highlighted as you type.
Tip. If you are enabling Excel Track Changes in a shared workbook (which is indicated by the word [Shared] appended to the workbook name), the List changes on a new sheet will also be available. You can select this box too to view full details about each change on a separate sheet.Highlight changes on screenWith Highlight changes on screen selected, Microsoft Excel shades the column letters and row numbers where changes were made in a dark red color. At the cell level, edits from different users are marked in different colors - a colored cell border and a small triangle in the upper-left corner. To get more information about a specific change, just hover over the cell:
View tracked changes history in a separate sheetApart from highlighting changes on screen, you can also view a list of changes on a separate sheet. To have it done, perform these steps:
