Hi Friends,
I'm in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, and I'm struggling with an issue. The
day after I got down here, there was swine flu outbreak in Mexico
City, about 100 miles East of where I am. I'm getting some pressure
from my family. I'm wondering what I should do. Please vote to tell
me what you think I should do:

I found that there's a bus from Toluca (50 miles from me) to Nuevo
Laredo for $60. I could get from Neuvo Laredo to San Antonio. And
then I found a rideshare leaving Tuesday, May 5 from San Antonio to
Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I could meet up with Ryan.
But I'm down here now. I'm sort of invested. I'm not really looking
forward to the heat coming up in July and August (probably sooner,
really), and the rainy season starting in mid-May (hard afternoon
showers, apparently).
I'm wondering if I should get back to the US, where if I got the flu,
I would know how to seek treatment, I'd have a friend to help me
out. Tour in the US until summer runs its course and then take that
ride down to Oaxaca at the end of summer with that guy who'd pay me
$250.
Would I get burned out on cycling? Would I live to regret the
decision to leave Mexico now? Is the media, my family, and all the
face masks hyping up the issue and needlessly stressing me out?
I'm going on a camping trip now for the night with the people I'm
staying with in Valle. I'll be back tomorrow. I'd really your input.
Thanks,
Eoin
