From my experience with groups and projects I find that a clear definition of terms helps to facilitate communications. It is especially useful to bring new people onboard to discussions later.

We can start it here. I'll add it to the website for all to use as we progress.

BPCG Governing Body - Everyone is empowered in the community to help. But there are key positions in lee of calling a meeting or a committee. They are the Garden Coordinator, Registrar and Treasurer.
Coordinator – a volunteer who calls meetings and leads them, works to make sure all the gardeners are participating and important tasks are being accomplished. Some gardens have co-coordinators.
Gardener -  A person that works a plot. This is not necessarily the plot owner.
No Till - The plots are not turned as a group annually by the garden. This does not preclude gardeners from tilling the plots they are working with their own equipment.
Partner - An individual or organization that helps facilitate programs at the garden
Plot - A leased area of the community garden.
Plot Owner - Person that pays the annual fee for the garden plot.
Raised Bed - Wheelchair accessible bends.
Registrar – a volunteer who holds the garden waiting list and assigns plots in spring and when spaces open during the season.
Sponsor - An individual or organization that donates money to the garden for programs or projects.
Treasurer – a volunteer who collects plot fees & pays bills.

What you guys think? I'm not a stickler for the names, so have at it. I'm more concerned that they represent a concept that will be discussed. Other terms? I think this is a working list and will expand as needed.

I'm one who believes that definitions help set expectations more clearly for all involved parties. But then again, I'm geeky that way.

I like it too. I think if it is clearly defined it is easier for all.
