So I did some research into Twitter and how we could use it in a workflow.
We could just declare a hashtag like #BadgerPrairieGarden for those that are public Tweeters. Then you can filter on the hashtag. But that means actively using twitter to do the filter.
If however we more of a group based "Following" then we are looking at use of Twitter Lists. The Master List would be kept by a Twitter presence that represents the Garden, Chauncey in our case. The problem is that the list would require maintenance. I'm not opposed to that but what does it gain us? The clients don't tend to give notification of a message. You basically need to be plugged into the stream. FB at least sets a badge on the app when you get a direct message.
Also when you follow someone if we use a list or not we still would want to use a hashtag to filter even those peoples tweets down to just the garden messages.
I'm wonder if many past a subset of the FB users would use it? And FB pretty much covers it better.
