2026 Orienteering Season and setter needs

We are building our event calendar for 2026. As always we need volunteers to take on the job of setting courses. We acknowledge that course setting can be a challenging commitment to someone who has not done it. However, we really need to expand our pool of setters so that the same few people don't get overworked. 

Knowing that there are some of you out there who could be very capable setters but currently lack the confidence to volunteer to set a course, we are trying something new this year. We hope that some orienteers might like to be an apprentice setter and work with the lead setter on some courses. They can gain the confidence to set courses in the future.

At this point our tentative schedule is:

April 19 Greenbush (Lead course setter: Bob Doro)

May 2 or 3 Blue Mound

May 17 Lapham Peak (Lead course setter: Rick Schnell)

Oct. 17 or 18 Greenbush

Nov. 1 Devil's Lake 

Nov. 21 Lapham Peak (Lead course setter: Charlie Shahbazian)

 

We are seeking lead setters for the 3 events w/o a listed setter and apprentice setters for any of the events that would be most convenient for them.
