Ryan, Alex, and Jason Defense Mechanisms

Jason waited until Ryan's back was turned to take his defense
mechanism practice problems off his desk. However, Jason saw Ryan
watching him out of the corner of his eye, and Jason's guilt
eventually forced him to give Ryan his own set of class notes the next
day for the open notes quiz. (Undoing).

Alex is a regular visitor at the guidance office as she is always
changing her schedule. She wreaks havoc on her guidance counselor
because she can't commit to a final set of classes. (Nomadism).

After a tough day of school, Ryan really had the urge to punch his
last block teacher in the face. Instead, he proceeded to walk down the
street to Bank of America, put on his ski mask, and rob the place.
(Substitution).

Jason was feeling really insecure about his inabilities in AP Psych,
so he went out on the town and ridiculed every person he saw that was
out walking . (Overcompensation).

Alex was wearing a really ugly Christmas sweater that her parents made
her put on because her grandmother made it. In school, without even
thinking, Alex looked at the first person she saw and said, "that is
an awful shirt you have on." (Projection).
