Youhave a substantial number here Jeff. I am most attracted to the early years. I do have that Dale Earhart #3 Goodwench car in 1/43 but don't collect NASCAR at this point. Too many other distractions.

I haven't seen one in 1/24, but i have the 1/18 Action #3 Goodwrench Corvette that Dale Sr and Jr. drove at the 24 Hrs. of Daytona. It's the "dirty/raced" version. Action made two different ones the dirty/raced and not raced version. I believe Action also made a 1/43 of the same car in the unraced version with an opening hood. I haven't seen it in 1/64, but I haven't looked for one either.

Yes, Action did make a 1/43 as you believe. I seem to remember a dirty one but I did get the opening hood, clean version. In a storage box currently but here is a picture. I do not believe that it was made in 1/64.

Created by Adriel Johnson, the DRC is one of several 1/64-scale gravity race series he runs on two highly detailed tracks that he built in his one-car garage. Johnson, who left a career in computer information systems, had no prior professional experience in broadcasting. Video, photography, and audio had been hobbies since high school. He is self-taught, with no formal training in any of those fields.

Johnson is a car enthusiast, though, and that comes through in his work. The races are not rehearsed; the results you see how they ran. Cars are released at the start line, and gravity takes over from there.

From race to finished production, it takes Johnson about two days to produce a video. Filming and editing take up the first day, and the second day is spent adding the sound effects, voiceover and music. Johnson takes advantage of the spontaneity of the racing, for example running instant replays on passing maneuvers, which, of course, occur purely by chance.
