It seems they've
lost twelve of those ports, but I'm excited nonetheless.
In my opinion, if they release a faster mini that hits the sweet spot price-wise that it was originally intended for, they could make a killing.
The vast majority of people who are in the market for a new computer have already owned one at some point in the past, and therefore already have monitors and keyboards and such. And since Microsoft's prereqs for Vista encouraged most people to believe that their machines were hopelessly outdated, there are a lot of people out there who could be lured over to the Mac side if they could get one cheap enough.
The Mini currently starts at $600. I'm pretty sure it originally started at $500, and I feel like they're going to try to bring that back. I also feel like if they managed to cut costs even further with some kind of mass deal with Nvidia down to $400, a much larger market will be drawn into the Mac.
I know a couple people in my dorm who would scrape one up just to get into cocoa development, if it were cheap enough.
Yeah. I'm excited.
