Alex referring to me as 'them' was rather revealing, haha. Either way,
I/we am/are in. I was always pretty sad when this group's activity
asymptoted; it'd be nice if we all breathed some new life into it.
I'll be at MacWorld again this year as well, so I'll definitely post
here as it all goes down.
In my opinion, web apps are all fine and good if they are designed
correctly and perform a task that fits into the web paradigm, but
flash is not. At all. I could definitely pump out a few essays on why,
but I'll hold back this time.
That being said, it could be kind of nice to have a front end to the
IRC server as a web app.
Having more than one live chat feature would be sort of silly, and
this way those who like IRC and those who didn't could be in the same
channel. I would rather encourage more people to use IRC than switch
completely to a web based system, and this way seems to solve
everyone's problems.
An extremely quick google search told me that CGI:IRC could solve our
problems; there's also a slight chance I could host a Badassintosh-
specific build if anyone wants. Didn't we have a web server for a
while, once upon a time?
