JamBEERee & post-holiday party

Hi all!  Don't forget, the Guild post-holiday party is tomorrow!  There are still tickets, so it's not too late if you want to join us!

Also, here's a note about the JamBEERee from Cole.  It's next weekend!

Just wanted to mention JamBEERee, the meeting of the DMV clubs, again. It will be Saturday, February 7, at DC Brau. Brau opens at 1pm, so people can start showing up around then, and we'll kick off things not long after.

1) There will be a beer & food pairing competition, so if intetested, bring your dish and homebrew for us all to judge. We should have extention cords if needed. .

2) There will also be a high gravity beer competition. This is normally a DC Homebrewers competition in January, but the snow/ice ruined our meeting plans, so we moved the competition to JamBEERee and are opening it up for all. The rules for what is "high gravity" are a little in the air, but if you think your beer(s) meets the gravity/abv level to fit this category, feel free to enter.

**Both competitions are crowd favorite by ballot, and winners gets ribbons and bragging rights.

3) Finally, we will have an educational activity and talk. Wendy at BURP is doing a hop sensory activity, and Mike Tonsmeire of Sapwood Cellars fame will give a presentation about hopping techniques. Should be a good talk.
