Hi Ladies,

We are in the market for an umbrella stroller and wanted to hear your thoughts on the GLuxe and/or any other brand you are using. I know they have remodeled it slightly for 2013 (easier recline, aluminum frame) but the width/depth of seat, fabric, brakes are all the same.

What do you like about it? what do you wish was different? <---really these questions are applicable to ANY umbrella stroller you have purchased.

feedback is helpful!

Thanks,
Shirah

Hi, Shirah,
I have a GLuxe that I keep in my car.  I use it for longer walks when I visit my parents or to go to the store.  I have used it around the city too and it handles well.  Mine was purchased last year so it is the 2012 but it reclines well and the cup holder is sturdy. Luke seems to like it.  It is very light, has a carrying strap, and is easy to fold one handed (important with these wiggly babies.)  I also like that it stands on its own when folded.  Luke is pretty mobile these days but the stroller feels very secure once he is strapped in even with all of his flailing and reaching.

Dislikes- the basket is very small and somewhat difficult to get things into and out of and the stroller is so light that I don't attach my diaper bag for fear that it may flip (I have heard of this happening to only one mom I know- her son is fine, just a scrape- but it makes me a little nervous.)  That said, I know a ton of people who have this particular stroller who love it (myself included.)

Sandy

I second everything Sandy said. We have last year's model and I love it too. I always attach my diaper bag to the handles, but I can see how it could flip a lighter child. The stroller is only 11lbs, but that is one thing I love about it. You can also buy a travel bag if you are flying with it.

I agree. We have last year's model, and it's so great...especially for travel. We have the travel bag, and it has really protected the stroller when we took several flights. It is so light and I love the fold. Plus, I love Uppababy because they really stand behind their products, so if there is an issue, it's not a hassle a all. The basket is definitely small though, but I'm sure that's true with most umbrella strollers.

By the way, I'm so amazed at all of the foods your babies have been eating! Max is just starting to take more interest in finger foods, but it has been such a slow process.

I hope you are all doing well!!

Riggamonster has the GLuxe and we love it. It is great for restaurants, car travel, and of course the airports. My only beef with it is that my diaper bag is oftern heavier than it - but i'm working on ways around this. i'll let you know if i come up with any counter-balance weight tricks.

Thanks all! I had read some concerns about the depth of the seat/ waist straps and if it really could support the 55 pounds it claims. Dara is only 19 pounds so nothing we have to worry about for a while.

Sounds like the Gluxe gets this groups seal of approval!

The 2013 model has a feature on the seat where you can flip it down for a younger child so their legs can hang or leave it to keep their feet elevated like if they were sleeping. The straps do adjust a lot. Big boy Ben (as my 75 year old neighbor calls him) loves the gluxe.: )
