Possible to use External PostgresDB with Docker Container?

Hello,
I've recently installed Baculum with the (https://hub.docker.com/r/bacularis/bacularis-standalone/) container, and I was wondering if it's possible to use an external Postgres DB rather than using the internal one?
I already run Postgres on my network and have an existing backup system in place complete with daily offsites, an additional DB would only add to the complexity.

Is this possible? And if so, how?

Hello Harvey,

Yes, it is possible to use an external Bacula database.

To do so you need to configure the API to use the external DB. This setting is available in the Bacularis API panel in the 'Settings' page on the second tab called 'Catalog'. Please replace the internal database auth parameters to parameters to your external database.

Second step is to switch Bacula in the container to use an external DB. For doing that you need to go to the Bacularis web interface to the 'Director' tab, then to the 'Configure director' tab and to the 'Catalog' subtab. There you find the Bacula Catalog resource configuration. You can edit it and switch to the external DB.
