New big park in Downtown Raleigh (maybe)

URGENT ACTION ALERT: Make Dix Park a reality.

The future Dix Park would be our best Sprint Map as well as being a fantastic park right in downtown Raleigh. There will be over 300 acres of rolling hills, huge trees on fields of grass, buildings and roads with no traffic, creeks, a train track as well as some forested areas. There is plenty of parking for events, and this would be an "A" meet quality sprint location as well as a fantastic place to teach orienteering. But if we want this park we need to act today.

I have been working for 9 years to make Dorothea Dix Park a reality. Now we are at the critical point on our 9 year journey to create a Destination Park in Downtown Raleigh.

Please contact the Council of State TODAY (December 3, 2012) - they make their decision tomorrow.

You can use this list to email all the Council of State members. Just copy and paste it into the To: line of your email.
All you need to say is: “As a citizen of NC, I urge you to support the immediate creation of a 306 acre park on the Dix campus.” So they know there is support for the park.
