Job Title: SQL DBA

Job Description:
The SQL Server DBA is needed to support several high priority projects and also provide non-production and production support for other JFS applications. SQL server projects that need support are eRWIN prod & test Upgrade & Migration, HP Quality Center.
The senior SQL Server DBA will be required to provide the following support.
Recommendations for updates to the SQL Server environment for best practices that include database design, structure, instance recommendations, cluster details, storage/backup, database management and migration paths.
Assessment of database architecture with recommended strategies, refinements, modifications, and support according to industry standards.
Assist in the installation, configuration and new build of Microsoft SQL Server in the following environments: development, test, production, stand alone, clusters, and virtualized.
Assessment and Recommendation of database environment for database tuning and efficiency.
Assessment and Recommendation of SQL Server database environments for upgrades and maintenance plans.
Assist ODJFS IT Staff in the development, design and documentation of SQL Server Database environments.
Assist the ODJFS Staff in the implementation of current and future SQL Server efforts.
Provide non-production and production support for SQL server database based applications and assist in trouble shooting production issues and application performance issues.
Review and assess the backup and recovery strategy currently implement for production and non-production databases and come up with recommendation and assist in implementing the recommendations
Any other tasks assigned by the management team based on project/application needs.
