Hi,

I'm struggling for weeks with proper logging from my Cloud Code.
At Parse, I used console.log() to write output to the Parse Dashboard, which was properly depicted in the section Logs -> Info.
However, in the Parse Dashboard at back4app the Logs stayed empty.

I used these and finally worked for a few hours.
At some moment all the log data was removed and it's showing the default:
No logs in the last 30 days
When you start using Cloud Code, your logs will show up here.

Can you please make logging robust?
I would also appreciate a button "Delete Log data" in the App Logs of the back4app Dashboard, because scrolling is endless there.

Thanks for your help.

I think I have found the problem.
It seems that all Log entries are erased ate 0:00 UTC.

Is this per design, or an error?

Hi, Martijn.

By default, Parse Server logs only show the logs of the current day.

But you can see the same logs in Back4app main panel as well. We show there 7 days logs (limited to 1000 entries).

If I can help you with any other question, let me know.

Best.

Thank you.
Is it possible to change that behaviour?
Especially for the error logs.

At Parse.com these data is stored indefinitely (or if the ring buffer is full).
Every now and then I looked in the Error section, to track if our Cloud Code was till OK.
Now I'm to do this everyday, which is undesired.

Hi Martjin.

Actually you can check the back4app main dashboard logs. There you can always see your latest logs and you are not required to check everyday. Got it?

Best!

Hi, I'm wondering if back4app plans to move the Parse-Server log to the Parse Dashboard. I looked at it again today noticing the Logs section which is non-operational:

It would be amazing if we could once again filter for errors like we did on Parse.com. My log gets really full with mundane cloud triggers.

We will consolidate both logs soon.

Meanwhile parse dashboard shows parse server logs and the ones you log using request.log.info() and request.log.error() functions.

Best!

Hello,
There are logs in "Setting" page but on dashboard, it said no logs in the last 30 days. And I want to see log as possible as I can.
What should I do?
Thank you in advance.

Hi!

We recommend to see your Main Logs at:
Log in > Server Settings > Logs > Settings > Server System Log.
Show the logs of console.log() and console.error() functions and all general logs of everything that happens with your app.

If you want to check your Parse Server logs, go to:
Sign in > Dashboard > Logs.
Show logs of request.log.info() and request.log.error() functions and all logs generated by Parse server.

Regards,
Natália.
