Dear Friends

I would like to give some advice on laying ducks. Caged ducks will
stop laying for days or even weeks' Free land ducks will lay daily.
In order to get the eggs you desire get rid of your pen and add a
large area with fencing. The ducks then will feel free and lay daily.

I built a four foot wire fence that is 35x35....my ducks which had not
lay ed began to graze and forage in the green grass and began laying
the very next day.

Ducks wont to be free and forage-this produces great results. on my
flying ducks I clip their wings in the fenced lot. on my other types
of ducks they know they are home and are never confined to any cages
or fences. They lay in the same spot every morning..by their
pool..often this can cause a problem when they take a swim and then
lay getting their eggs dirty.....to solve this problem I put sand in a
circle around the pool..then you get clean eggs.

Just some advice for those of you who have your ducks caged and wonder
why they aren't laying. Mike
