We have the 7 people needed for SDM, so there is less pressure to get the numbers needed. At the same time, people should feel free to self-nominate and an election can be easily run.

Thank you

Just an idea -------- Since we don't have a UTLA chair and not enough for SDM and we are trying to be innovative...  Why don't we just create an Advisory Council (or name it what you would like)?  Basically, it would be similar to SDM but then we could tailor it to fill our needs.

Topics that SDM helped with = School Calendar of P.D.s and Faculty Meetings, revising procedures for dress code and field-trips.

This council could meet with Paul as needed - once or twice a month after school.  I would also recommend having one or 2 students on the council.  In order for that to happen, meetings would need to take place when the students are available.

I feel that since we are a small school, trying to fit us into a larger school model has been challenging.  I'm not saying totally changing what SDM is but make it more practical for our school, so that it can be implemented.

Sincerely,
Michelle
