Hi - new to the whole world of cat sailing, I have acquired an older Unicorn cat over here in Canada (I am an ex-pat, so thought about joining the UK forum). Officially it is an A cat I guess, although of course not competitive with the new carbon rocket ships around now - maybe the next build or purchase :-)

Going through the boat, I have remade all the foils (my business does these) and am now looking at the mainsail.

I have the class plans, but am at a loss as to how to measure or specify mast luff curve to a sailmaker.
If anyone has the measurement(s) like half height deflection under load etc., please let me have them or at least let me know a reliable way to get them on the boat so I can send a decent spec to a sailmaker.

Many thanks,
Dave

My suggestion is to contact Grant Piggot who is a top class cat sailor and sail maker in the UK.. on his facebook page he has posted pictures of unicorn sails made by him and I can highly recommend his work..

Email is Gr...@nacra.co.uk

Hi Dave

My advice to you is to contact Gary Piper who is "Mr Unicorn" in the UK. You can make contact through their website www.unicorn-cats.org.uk
