Hello fellow BACC Members,
Happy spring to you all! This season brings many exciting things to New England, including the knowledge that another BACC meeting is on the horizon. Brittany and I have begun working on our upcoming meeting, but as always, we would like some feedback from the group.
First, we would like to know who may be interested in hosting either in the spring or fall. Our goal is to host a meeting in May and again in the fall (most likely October). I know I have asked this question of the group a few times, so my apologies in asking again. If you are interested, please reach out to either me or Brittany. We will compile the list and then decide based on location and times available.
Secondly, we are looking for feedback on topics to be covered at upcoming meetings. We have come up with some ideas that may help spur additional ideas. If you could either respond with which topics you are most interested in (rate them 1-6) or suggest a new topic that we will consider as well. Here are the topics we came up with:
· NAGPRA/Provenance research (Either topics about NAGPRA legislation or work related to provenance research)
· Climate change and its effects on museum/object storage (including structures)
· Backlog projects (How do we deal with projects that fall to the backburner)
· Networking/Resume building (Topics related to growing a career in the field)
· Capital projects (Topics related to capital museum projects either large or small)
· Volunteers and volunteer programs
Lastly, and perhaps after we settle on what topics we wish to focus on, we will be looking for presenters both at the Spring and Fall meetings. Topics could align with suggested topics or those suggested by members. If you or anyone you know that may be a good fit, please reach out to either Brittany or myself and we can discuss further.
Thank you all so much for your help with this. I hope you all enjoyed a nice winter season, and we look forward to hearing back from you, but more importantly seeing you soon.

Hi everyone,
We are considering changing our deed of gift process to include a digital signature.
Do any of you use this for deeds and what process do you use? DocuSign? Or a fillable PDF on which the donor types in their signature?
Does anyone know of any literature in the museum field that addresses the legality of using a digital signature?
Thank you!
Maureen

Hi,
We are interested in purchasing some 16”high stanchions to put in front of a few quilts we will be hanging vertically on the walls of the gallery.
Something like this: https://www.gaylord.com/Exhibit-%26-Display/Signage-%26-Traffic-Management/Traffic-Management/Freestanding-Exhibit-Barriers/p/HYB09501
There are a wide variety of vendors, and I find it hard to decide between them when purchasing them on-line.
Has anyone purchased these and can recommend the ones you now use? Or can anyone suggest an actual brick-and-mortar store where I can go see and compare a variety of them?
Thank you for any suggestions and advice!
