Dear all, Greetings yo you! I take the chance to share with you the Minutes of the BACADET AGM (21st 01 2017) at Kati Kati-Kampala (see attachment). The meeting was attended by 22 people. Ronald Kavulu led the opening prayer. The chairman highlighted 3 major achievements of the committee since taking office 2 1/2 months ago. a) Accompanying & supporting members both morally & financially during happy and sad moments, b) All necessary paperwork to open BACADET bank account was ready, C) Drawing of the 2 year Strategic Development Plan, which was discussed & approved during the meeting. MINUTE 2: The treasurer apologized for the slow process of opening the account, which she attributed to the legal process of transferring power from the old committee members to the new committee members. Many resolutions had to be registered and certified. The Association had managed to fundraise and contribute to the following activities: 1. The wedding of Allen Nakijjwe-1,764,000/=; X-mas basket for children of our departed colleagues Geoff Kalibbala, Prossy Nalwoga & Godfrey Ssekaayi-1,140,000/=; Condolences for Harriet Babirye-425,000/=; Condolences for Beckee Rwanika-485,000/=; Wedding of Arthur Luggya-1,400,000/= and Wedding of Daniel Seggane- 3,830,000/=. Eleven (11) members had started the push towards paying subscription fees with a total joint-contribution of 690,000/=. These members are: Sennoga Richard, Richard Seggane, Christopher Kalibbala, Kizito Bob, Nakangu Peninah, Eric Ssemwanje, Judith Najjuko, Joel Kinobe, Nakanwaagi Susan, Kezaala Peace and David Magezi. Other members paid their subscription fees at the AGM; Nakato Jane, Harriet Babirye, Noreen Nabisubi and Nakaggwe Florence. A total amount of Ugx. 539,000 had been spent on the process of transferring power from the old committee to the new committee leaving a balance of Ugx. 151,000. Other activities implemented before the new committee came into office: Condolence of 1,100,000/= to Edward Mukasa when he lost his mother; A cancer fundraising campaign of 3,350,000/= that was donated to Alice Nankinga (an old girl of Ndejje SSS); Contribution towards the late Geoff Kalibbala's hospital bills & condolence fees to him and the late Prossy Nalwoga. MINUTE 3: BACADET 2 year Strategic Development Plan was presented by Eric, discussed and approved. It seeks to address welfare needs of the members in the short run but an investment in a joint-project in the Long run (a SACCO or Purchase of land). MINUTE 4: Emerging Issues: 1. In order to encourage networking, the meeting agreed to do a boat-cruise among the get-together activities in the financial year. 2. The Executive Committee to come up with a uniform amount of money to be given to members in need and this help to only be given to fully registered members. 3. In addition to the shs 50,000 Annual Subscription fees, the meeting approved payment of 100,000/= per member to go towards welfare needs. 4. Bob Kizito and Noreen were awarded with the best male and female cadets of the year & given presents courtesy of Richard Daniel Seggane. Please see attachment for detailed minutes.
