Inquiry about School Policy on Student Wearable Tech

Hi my fellow K6 Techies! Happy New Year!

Amidst the post-holiday craze of new electronics... I am reaching out to inquire about your school's policy regarding students wearing wearable tech during school hours, classes, and other school-related activities. Could you kindly share any guidelines or restrictions in place? 

Additionally, I'm interested in understanding how the policy is being received by the school community and the methods used to communicate it. Any insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

We have "guidelines" instead of policies that are enforced. Our school doesn't allow students to wear smartwatches (or to have phones) in lower school during school hours. If they have one, they have to keep it tuned off in their backpacks/lockers. Students are allowed non-smart electronic watches. Generally, parents are fans of no-use & stricter tech policies, at least from my experience. We haven't found it to be an issue (so far). Of course, if there was a reason a student might need the tech to assist in their learning we would work with the families to ensure their needs are met while meeting school guidelines.
