recently received the 4k stick and have no problems with all my streaming channels except for Netflix. Netflix will not load properly and constantly gives UI-800-02 error code. Tried deleting app, reinstalling, factory reset, all other options, nothing works. Netflix works fine on my other roku devices and smart tv's. roku said they would call me back, but no response. anyone else find a solution for this ?
i constantly get error UI-800-02 when i try to start Netflix on my Roku 4k streaming stick. No issues with it running on older roku devices that i have on other televisions. all applications work just fine, except Netflix. Called Samsung, they said it was Netflix, so called them. Netflix said it was Roku and when i called Roku they said that they needed to investigate and would get back to me within 24 hours. Unfortunately no one got back to me.
I've tried that multiple times and Roku support has had me perform perform factory reset, delete the application, reinstall application, turn everything off turn everything back on multiple times, Netflix still shows the same error and support had me provide the internal error codes. They indicated they would respond within 24 hours, but that time has come ne and gone with no resolution or contact.
We appreciate the time and effort you've put into resolving this Netflix issue. Please note that since this issue is specific to Netflix, we suggest contacting their customer support team, Netflix ContactUS, for further assistance and clarification. It's important to know that the majority of content on the Roku platform is provided and managed independently by the streaming channels' providers.
I contacted netflix, who told me to call Roku as the problem only occurs on the Roku ultra 4k stick. I provided the error codes to Roku support, but no one has followed up. Passing the buck back to Netflix doesn't help. I called Netflix who had me call samsung, samsung had me call roku, initially, roku had me call netflix who in turn told me to call roku. roku finally admitted there was a problem with the roku ultra 4k stick but no one is taking 'ownership' of the problem to get it resolved.
Please get someone in roku technical team to review the information provided to roku support and of course, if they need more data, i would be happy to share the entire page that shows all the error data on the roku device.
as a side note, others have had to uninstall/reinstall, or reset their roku device to get it to work with netflix, but none of their resolutions work for me. the fact that they experienced the same errors and after doing the above got their device to work properly demonstrates that the problem is with roku not netflix.
@RokuKariza-D Not an ideal solution, but I created a new roku account then factory reset the roku and signed in with the new account. Now Netflix works. So looks like an issue with the old roku account somehow. At least I can watch Netflix. LMK if Roku is not planning on fixing this and I'll put in a request to delete my old account.
I can log into Netflix and view previews. But, when I attempt to play individual episodes it loads up to 25% and never plays the episode. I have restated my Roku, deleted the Netflix channel, signed in and out and restarted my modem and router to no avail. Not sure if this is a Netflix or Roku issue.
You mentioned that you already tried removing the app. Did you restart your Roku device before re-installing the channel? That step is crucial when performing the troubleshooting. If you haven't tried the suggested order (remove > restart > re-install), we would recommend giving it a shot once again.
Thanks for your reply. The issue is only occurring for Netflix. I tried the suggested order of removing the app, restarting the Roku and re-installing, but that did not work either. I have done the system restart from the settings many multiple times as well. I'm not sure what the issue is here.
When problems are confined to a particular channel, it may be that the channel didn't install properly, that it didn't update correctly, or that the installation has otherwise gotten corrupted. A reinstall may fix the problem, so give it a try.
Remove/reinstall procedure:
Since you are still unable to play videos from one channel after attempting the suggestions above, videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.
Hopefully those of you out there can help find a solution to this. I have two Roku stick, one of which functions without issue (Streaming Stick 4k), but unfortunately I'm having problems with the Roku Express.
My Roku Express connects to Netflix without issue, however, it will connect to any other streaming service reliably. I ended up performing a reset of the router and the Roku Express stick, after which it connected to Prime once but since its last use it is now failing to connect. Prime reports error code 0.28 and other services simply fail to initialise/connect.
I've attempted a factory reset of the Roku Express but this hasn't made any noticeable difference. I have various other devices connected to the router including the other Roku stick, PC, mobile phone etc.
We appreciate your report about this playback issue you're experiencing, and we'd like to know more about it. Could you tell us if you've been able to use this before without seeing these issues happening? How far is this device from your router? We would also suggest connecting your device to an alternative network, like a mobile hotspot, to see if that makes a difference.
The Roku box is in the room adjacent to the router. I tested the alternate wifi connection point available and this made no difference and I also tested using the suggested mobile phone hotspot but again, no difference.
If it's of any relevance, when the Roku box starts up it doesn't have the same advertisements/banners I see on the other box within the house prior to obtaining a connection to the network. I've also noticed that the only time the banners populate are on the three occasions I've successfully connected to services other than Netflix.
I have managed to perform firmware updates to both the Roku Express box and my router, however, this issue still persists. The only way I have found as a work around is to perform a Network Connection Reset whenever I wish to use one of the affected services.
@RokuEuniceL - I ensure to keep my devices up to date, however, as per your instruction I checked for updates and I am running the latest version. I have also swapped over my device so that it is powered via a wall socket (first time I've heard of this advice for your devices) and it has made no difference.
So all of a sudden yesterday evening the Netflix app on my roku stopped working. I did the router reset, checked for software updates, reset the roku, and deleted and reinstalled the Netflix app. It takes 7-9 minutes I open Netflix to the accounts option. Then 2-4 minutes to load Netflix and then forever to load a show to play, then after a few minutes it stops and loads again for a very long time. When reinstalling the app it took almost 25 minutes to add the channel.
please help!!
Just finished installing a new Express, everything seems to be good except NetFlix. It tries to start the NetFlix app and crashes, returns back to home screen. I have a Roku Ultra on a different tv, it loaded the Netflix app, required me to do a sign in but the worked normally. Idid remove the app and reinstalled with no change. Not sure what to try now.
If this issue is not resolved, please help us with additional information provided below that would be helpful for our team to look into this problem.
-What Roku model device are you using?
-What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far to try to resolve the issue?
-What are you seeing on screen? Can you provide a screenshot of the issue you are experiencing?
I just received a brand new Roku Ultra on Sat. 4/27, nad have been having the exact same results: can't get netflix working at all. Have done all of the recommended steps: restarting the roku, restarting my router & modem, deleting and & reinstalling the app, factory resetting the roku, etc., and various combinations of these steps, and still get the exact same error. Here are my device details:
I had the exact same problem, just bought a brand new Roku Ultra last Wednesday, everything worked but Netflix. I tried everything I could find online, resetting the app, uninstalling, restarting the Roku, reinstalling the app. restarting my network, doing a factory reset. Eventually I just exchanged the Roku for a new one and fortunately that worked, but if this comes up again on the new one after my return period I'm boned. Figure it out Roku! You're probably getting a lot of returns over this that could be sales!
We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you with the Netflix channel. Also, we appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have taken to resolve the issue. In the meantime, please help us with the details above posted by @RokuJohnB so we can send additional information for the investigation to our engineering team.
Hi, I have recently (5/1) purchased a Roku Ultra, and I am receiving the same error with Netflix (and Netflix only) UI-800-3. I've tried all of the troubleshooting steps, including restarting Roku, restarting my modem/router, uninstalling/resinstalling Netflix. Nothing helps.
