People have always explored and modified the technologies in their lives, whether crystal radios, automobiles, or computer software. Reverse engineering is one expression of this tinkering impulse. Unfortunately, legal regulation of reverse engineering can impact the Freedom to Tinker in a variety of ways. This FAQ gives some information that may help coders reduce their legal risk.
Ola Bini, the software developer acquitted last year of cybercrime charges in a unanimous verdict in Ecuador, was back in court last week in Quito as prosecutors, using the same evidence that helped clear him, asked an appeals court to overturn the decision with bogus allegations of unauthorized access...
Following an FBI raid of his home last year, the freelance journalist Tim Burke has been arrested and indicted in connection with an investigation into leaks of unaired footage from Fox News. The raid raised questions about whether Burke was being investigated for First Amendment-protected journalistic activities, and...

23 January, 2024We, the undersigned organizations and individual experts call on the state delegations participating in the concluding session of the United Nations (UN) Ad Hoc Committee to ensure that the proposed Cybercrime Convention (the Convention) is narrowly focused on tackling cybercrime, and not used as a tool to undermine...
They are very patient and understanding, and willing to work at my place. It's first experience working with coders, and it's going very well. They are open. They're open and honest, and answer any questions I have throughout the process
Working with Band of Coders has been a very pleasant experience. Having worked with several other IT companies previously, Band of Coders has by far been the most understanding of our mission and goals for our software development. They are willing to spend time needed on details that others tend to overlook. We couldn't be more satisfied with our partnership. Thank you for all you've done for us!
I have worked with Band of Coders since June 2019. As the CEO and non-technical founder of a start-up (Curovate) I needed a company that could take full responsibility for our entire mobile app code base. I have found Band of Coders to be very professional, detail-oriented, and consistent in their high quality of software output
Great company! The project manager always takes a feet on the ground approach looking for ways to help my company get the best result. The software developer working on our application is smart, experienced and checks his own work...imagine! I'm very happy since going with BOC!
We've worked with BoC on several projects of varying complexity and have been impressed with not just the quality of the work but also BoC's genuine desire to see their clients succeed. There is simply no better way I've found to get top-tier web dev talent on short-notice, backed by a company that insures results.
I was looking for something very specific in the IT world and Band of Coders was abale to fine the right person for the project and with a very decent amount they got it done earlier than I expected, I was very happy with the result.
Baptist Health Medical Group is a member of the AMA Health System Program, which provides enterprise solutions to equip leadership, physicians and care teams with resources to help drive the future of medicine.
Baptist Health Medical Group is growing at a rapid pace, with plans to hire additional new physicians, and an identified need of one coder for every 10 physicians, said Clay. Coding help was needed across Baptist Health, from its 20 rural health clinics to its ambulance services and hospital revenue cycle departments.
One of the participants, a woman who worked in a cardiology office, graduated and attained her dream of being a cardiology office coder in an environment where she was already familiar with the medical terms, said Clay.
The AMA and Relias have co-developed education delivering a total of 60 courses associated with 13 packages focused on various Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) specialty and topic education. Learn more about the CPT coding education offered by the AMA and Relias.
In looking at benchmarks, the 18 additional certified coders put Baptist Health Medical Group more in line with the desired ratio. This should reduce charge lag and improve overall collection time for the organization, said Hale.
Qualitative research methods contend with debates surrounding subjectivity and bias. Researchers use a variety of techniques to help ensure data trustworthiness. One such technique is to involve multiple coders in data analysis. The deliberative nature of codebook development among multiple coders produces rich data analysis that may not otherwise be achieved with a single (or even two) researcher(s). In this manuscript, we make a plea for researchers and journals to include data analysis procedures and descriptions in published literature. In addition, we illustrate minimal reporting of qualitative data analysis processes through a synthesis of 21 years of agricultural best management practice adoption literature. We present two rural agricultural case studies on multi-coder team codebook development and intercoder reliability processes specific to interviews, focus groups, and content analysis. Overall, we argue that multi-coder teams can improve data quality, and reporting data analysis procedures can mitigate implications of subjectivity in qualitative methods.

If you are an experienced software engineer, computer scientist, programmer, or just great at solving coding challenges (Codeforces, Sphere Online Judge, Leetcode, etc.), this may be the perfect opportunity for you.
Join our team in training AI models to excel at coding generation! We're seeking talented software engineers to work remotely on exciting projects. As part of this opportunity, you'll contribute to training generative artificial intelligence models, helping them become proficient coders and building the next generation of coding tools.
We have partnered with organizations to train AI large language models, helping cutting-edge generative AI models write better code. Projects typically include discrete, highly variable problems that involve engaging with these models as they learn to code.
Base pay is determined by multiple factors, including the area of expertise, years of experience, and skillset needed for the project. Pay rates vary during the project lifecycle. For example, rates for onboarding are lower.
Picture this, the year was 2003 and I was a newly certified coder working in a medium size cardiology office. After working for four years gaining experience in coding, we merged with a three surgeon cardio-thoracic practice. The practice needed a surgery coder and I landed the position.
So, I packed up my coding books and left the comfort of my fellow coders and headed to the new office. I was a stranger in a strange land, very similar of when I was 21 and in the Navy. I stepped off a plane in Prestwick, Scotland heading to my new home, the USS Simon Lake. I survived that, so I would survive this.
The problem was, no one in our area had ever coded for cardiac surgeons; they had been using a billing company in another state. What was I to do? Talk about going from the frying pan into the fire! From there, my practice sent me to a non-competitive group for a short introduction to learn about CT surgery coding. Not exactly the best scenario, but better than nothing. I also attended a coding conference to gain more knowledge.

Despite the ubiquity of multiple coders in the qualitative public health and medical literatures, qualitative methodologists disagree about the importance or even suitability of this practice. While some have argued that having multiple coders increases the reliability of qualitative findings, others have raised concerns about this technique, suggesting that it was adopted from quantitative research without considering its appropriateness for qualitative studies. Additionally, while the use of multiple coders seems to be expected in the public health and medical literature, many esteemed qualitative anthropologists and sociologists do not employ this practice, and many seminal qualitative methods textbooks do not even discuss multiple coding. Given these differences of opinion, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the use of multiple coders.
The goal of artificial intelligence (AI) is to replicate human cognitive processes. Thanks to the expanding availability of healthcare data and the quick advancement of analytics tools, it is bringing about a paradigm shift in healthcare.
Due to the exponential growth of technology and its ability to enable previously unheard-of innovation, experts believe that the upcoming decade will see significant changes like employment brought on by AI. Artificially intelligent machines are gradually replacing laborious, mechanical, and routine human operations like scheduling, documenting, inspecting equipment, gathering data, and performing initial assessments. Medical records and health information professionals' overall employment is anticipated to increase by 8 percent between 2022 and 2032, or as quickly as the average for all occupations, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Medical coders' skills are still in great demand due to the predicted continued exponential rise of healthcare data and its complexity.
