The Bruker 900 MHz NMR instrument is ready for use again at its new
home at UC Berkeley. During the past two months, it was de-energized,
moved from Fremont to Berkeley, and then re-energized. It is now
housed
in the new Stanley Hall, which is part of the QB3 Institute.
Please review your projects and consider asking for NMR time on the
900
MHz system. Please e-mail me at jgpe...@berkeley.edu or call me at
510-666-2752 in order to reserve time. We expect the instrument to be
available after Sept 3rd.
The current signups can be viewed at:
http://www.calendarwiz.com/calendars/calendar.php?crd=BayArea900&PHPSESSID=7fa2ede940fab398b9bf17fae888d5dc&jsenabled=1
Also, please inform me of new folks who you feel should receive
notices concerning the 900.
Currently, there are no time charges for use, however, all
of the work must be publishable.
Please note that the room temperature probe is installed.
Installation of
the cryoprobe will take place after process cooling water issues are
resolved at our new site.
The current sensitivity of the 900 (without a cryoprobe) is about
2400:1, or about twice that of the average 600 MHz system.
The website for the system is located at:

A Nuts&Bolts link has recently been added to the website. It includes
some of the nitty-gritty details that should be useful for users.
Sincerely,
Jeff Pelton
