RECYCLING DAY INFORMATION:

 

Dates, locations and times:

·         -May 15 @ Mobil in Tamuning on Airport Rd from 10am-2pm

·         -May 29 @ Mobil in Tamuning on Airport Rd from 10am-2pm

·         -June 12 @ Cars Plus from 8am-2pm

Recycling Partners and recyclable materials:

·         Our Recycling Partner companies will provide a recycling bin for the specified recyclable material they are collecting, be responsible for filling the bin with the recyclable materials donated and for removing the bins at the end of the event.

·         The public has been told to bring the recyclables in 32 gal garbage bags in order to receive and entry form. The START Now Guahan Grand Raffle Draw will be held at Cars Plus on June 12, 2010.

·         Recycling materials that will be accepted at these events are: aluminum cans, PET 1 and HDPE 2 plastics bottles and corrugated cardboard.

Dimensions of recycling bins:

·         iRecycle: 8 cubic yards

·         Pyramid: 20 cubic yards (18Lx8Wx5H)

·         DeWitt: 8Lx8Wx8H

Volunteers:

·         Volunteers will deal with the public. They will  collect the recyclable materials from the donors, weigh/measure the materials, give the donor an entry form(s) and hand the recyclables over the staff from our Recycling Partner companies to be added to the recycling bins

·         Current volunteers:

o        St. John’s school

o        Miss Earth Guam contestants

·         Possible volunteers:

o        Simon Sanchez High school

Shifts:

·         Volunteers will work in 2 hours shifts

·         There will be 2 shifts during each recycling day

·         There will be 4 volunteers per shift from each organization

Promotion:

·         Press releases have been written

·         The First Lady will be interviewed on K57 and 105 the Kat on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 8:20am and 1:50pm

·         The First Lady will appear on “Good Question.” The interview will be filmed on  airing on Monday and Sunday

Entry Forms:

·         Entry forms will be given to anyone who brings in a 32 gal garbage bag filled with either aluminum cans, corrugated cardboard or plastic type 1 or 2 bottles

·         For each bag they bring they will receive an entry form to the contest
