You might want to take a look at what xwininfo does. It doesn't
go by process number, but it clearly manages to discover a window ID
somehow which you might find useful. Otherwise, you can try feeding
your window ID back to the parent process via a pipe, socket, or even
a file.

Also, using "xwininfo()" can get the Window ID, given the name
of this forked window, but I could have many of them with the
same name.
