ANMA Thurs. 6/16: Shiva PPP Routers now route AppleTalk

generation of wide-area routers, based upon the LanRover/E hardware
platform. These routers support simultaneous use of AppleTalk, IP, and IPX
over the same Point-to-Point-Protocol serial network connections. At the
meeting to answer your questions will be Les Sparrey, of Shiva's San Jose
office. The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Syntex Laboratories
in Palo Alto, Thursday June 16th (the third Thursday of the month).
The July ANMA meeting will be Thursday evening at Mactivity (July 19-21) at
the San Jose Convention Center. The topic is feedback to Mactivity, Q&A to
each other (it'll be a big group with folks from all around the country),
and a verbal tour of the building of the trade show network (what worked,
what didn't). If you want a free ticket to the exhibits, call Mactivity at
408-354-2500 and ask them for an exhibit pass and tell them you are with
the ANMA. No pass is needed to attend the ANMA meeting.
We meet the third Thursday of the month, so mark your calendar now.

>From Hwy 280:
Exit Page Mill Road and head towards SF Bay to the second traffic light
which will be Junipero Serra to the north and Foothill Expressway to the
south.
Turn south (right) onto Foothill Expressway towards San Jose.
At the next intersection, turn right onto Hillview Ave.
Syntex Labs is at 3401 Hillview Avenue, it's the second Syntex entrance on
your left. (The first left immediately after Coyote Canyon Road dead ends
into Hillview.)
Park in visitor's parking to the right.
>From Hwy 101:
Exit Oregon Expressway and head towards the Pacific Ocean.
Drive quite a ways, under the railroad, across El Camino Real. After El
Camino Real Oregon Expressway changes it's name to Page Mill Road.
Stay on Page Mill Road as it heads up the hill.
The intersection on the down side of Page Mill Road is Junipero Serra to
the north and Foothill Expressway to the south.
Turn south (left) onto Foothill Expressway towards San Jose.
At the next intersection, turn right onto Hillview Ave.
Syntex Labs is at 3401 Hillview Avenue, it's the second Syntex entrance on
your left. (The first left immediately after Coyote Canyon Road dead ends
into Hillview.)
Park in visitor's parking to the right.
Please note, Syntex is a very big campus and there are quite a few places
to turn into Syntex parking lots. The correct entrance is towards the top
of the hill on Hillview Ave. If you don't see a big flag pole at the end of
the turn in entrance, you are at the wrong Syntex entrance.
On foot at Syntex:
As you drive into Syntex, there is a flag pole in front of you before you
turn to the right to go to visitors parking.
We typically meet in room "A2-1" in the "Conference Art Gallery" and there
are outdoor signs that point towards the Gallery.
On foot, from the visitor parking lot head away from Hillview towards the
flag pole. Turn to the right before you get near the flag pole and walk
past all the statues towards the cat walk kind of elevated sidewalk.
You are "outside" but you are sheltered by the building above you.
At the end of the elevated cat walk are some double glass doors.
Art is visible through the glass doors of the "conference art gallery".
You are in a twisty maze with all ...
Go through the doors, turn right and walk half way down the wall. You are
surrounded by employee art. Feel free to point at something and go "ooh,
ah, what power of expression" or some other similar phrase that you learned
in art class years ago.
ANMA meets in the first room on your left. If we are not in that room,
you'll hear a bunch of folks speaking AppleTalk babble in some other room
connected to the gallery. Come on in.
