Second Annual
KFOG *SKY CONCERT* EXTRAVAGANZA

AND

FREE CONCERT WITH TIMBUK3 & THE FREDDY JONES BAND

Saturday, May 13-Justin Herman Plaza, San Francisco

(San Francisco, CA) KFOG 104.5 FM is proud to announce its second annual
Sky Concert, a one of a kind fireworks extravaganza, which will take place
in San Francisco on Saturday, May 13. KFOG's Sky Concert festivities get
under way at 4:00 PM with an Expo Area in Justin Herman Plaza, Embarcadero
Center, featuring food, drink and fun. Then, starting at 6:00 PM, KFOG
hosts a free concert with Timbuk3 and, at 7:30 PM, The Freddy Jones Band.
The fireworks will grace the skies after dark, at approximately 9:00 PM,
with the prime viewing area along the Embarcadero Promenade. Last year's
Sky Concert attracted over 40,000 spectators. Weather conditions
permitting, the Sky Concert may be visible from all over the Bay Area.

KFOG's Sky Concert fireworks-launched from a barge on the Bay between the
Bay Bridge and the Ferry Building-are digitally synchronized to a custom
soundtrack compiled by KFOG Program Director Paul Marszalek. The
soundtrack will be aired on KFOG 104.5 FM, so all spectators can hear the
accompanying music.

The fireworks presented at KFOG's Sky Concert are the cutting edge of
explosive art. Pyrotechnicians are developing lush new colors and
spectacular new patterns-the likes of which have never been seen
before-which will be debuted at KFOG's Sky Concert.

The Freddy Jones Band appears at Sky Concert while taking a break from
recording their upcoming Capricorn Records release, due out in August.
The Chicago-based quintet makes what lead singer Marty Lloyd calls "your
basic American rock 'n' roll." They've scored hits with "In a Daydream,"
and "Take the Time," and were featured on KFOG's *Live From The Archives*
CD. Timbuk3, on High Street Records, is probably best remembered for
their '80s hit, "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades." However,
after ten years and five albums, the quirky combo is still producing
witty, sardonic tunes like KFOG hits "A Hundred Lovers" and "Sunshine is
Dangerous."

Justin Herman Plaza, the Embarcadero Promenade and prime viewing areas
along the San Francisco waterfront are easily accessible by public
transportation. KFOG urges all festival-goers to take BART or SF Muni.
