INTENT: Develop great games for Sony PlayStation. The platforms are
finally
getting good enough to do great games. I self-start, design and
implement games
and programs, read circuits, do math and 3D.
EDUCATION: Harvey Mudd College, Claremont California. B.S.
Mathematics 1975.
Further self-study in computer science and electronics.
EXPERIENCE: ImaginEngine. Ported as a simultaneous release a game
from Sega
Saturn to Sony PlayStation. From Sep 95 to present.
Advanced System for Power Engineering(ASPEN). Developed BatchSC, a major
modification of the main software which sold as a separate product. It
uses
sparse vector techniques to solve large networks quickly for the power
utility
industry. Designed and implemented RelayEditor, a new drawing program
that
manipulates spline segments to match relay specifications archived on
paper.
Used C and Windows SDK. From Nov 1989 to Sep 1991.
PLI. Wrote and maintained disk driver software and formatter software
for
Macintosh. Got deep into the ROM code. Used Think C, MPW Pascal, MPW
assembly.
>From Sep 1988 to Nov 1989.
Azakt. Developed a drafting program in Think C for startup. Prepared
business
plan and marketing strategies. Became Apple Certified Developer. From
1986
to 1988
Consulted for Austek on IBM PC graphics card. Did software prototyping
support
for hardware debugging, also developed some software to ship with the
board.
Got to know inside of video bios. For 6 months in 1987.
Daisy Systems. Programmed CAE in Pascal for gate arrays and Fortran for
SPICE.
Extended a MIPS microcode debugger in PLM. Unix environment, from Nov
1985
to Jan 1987.
Fox Video Games, Isaction. Developed video games for Atari VCS. 6502
assembly.
>From 1982 to 1984.
Atari. Developed for Atari VCS. SPACE INVADERS sold over 10 million
copies and
was signifigantly responsible for selling about that many consoles.
Also
prototyped SPACE DUEL for the arcade division. Used mainly 6502
assembler.
>From 1979 to 1981.
Fairchild Exectron. Did the most successful game on the platform--
Pinball Challenge. We prototyped in PLM and hand coded in F8. From
1977 to 1979.
LANGUAGES: C, C++, PLM, Fortran, Forth. Assembly for 68000, 80286,
8080, 6502, F8.
Microcode. Think C. Spice, Lisp.
MACHINES. Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, Atari VCS 2600.
IBM PC, Macintosh, PDP, DEC, IBM 1130, IBM 1620.
ENVIRONMENTS. Windows 95, Windows 3, Macintosh, Unix, PDP, IBM,
Tandem.
PUBLICATIONS. SPACE INVADERS, MAZE CRAZE for Atari VCS 2600. PINBALL
CHALLENGE,
PRO FOOTBALL for Fairchild Channel F. BatchSC, RelayEditor 4.0 for
Windows.
