1991-Present Happenings (Trade Show & Special Event Production)

POSITION: President

As proprietor of Happenings, a trade show and special event
production company, I formulate and manage corporate and private
special events. I managed a national trade show including: site
selection, hotel contract negotiation (up to $1M dollars), contracts
for national exposition & drayage companies. As a trade show manager
I led the direct mail campaign (100K pieces), exhibitor lead
generation,printed materials including exhibitor prospectus, exhibit
contract, exhibit program, and final evaluation. My expertise and
added value was to enhance the trade show by creating a unique theme,
inviting participants involvement and carrying the theme from the
first mailing through the final event. I accomplished this uniqueness
by the full integration of specialty items, entertainment and
specially developed decorations. As a trade show consultant, I
researched and targeted appropriate trade shows, designed booth
layout, trained staff and developed marketing collateral. As a
special event company, I consulted with government, corporate and
private clientele to personalize and develop special events ranging
from 8,000 to 200 attendees.

I created and developed a national trade show to accompany an annual
national conference. Within the first 3 years,the trade show grew
from 35 to 150 booths generating revenues in the 1st year of $30K
growing to $300K bythe 3rd year. I developed the timeline, milestones
and executed the booth sales strategy. I organized and managed a
staff of 8, and acted as the exhibitor liaison to managed care senior
executives. Special events that were connected with the conference
included "VIP Dinner" for CEO's and senior executives in the
healthcare field,Women's Networking Dinner for 200 female healthcare
executives, The Faculty Dinner honoring conference speakers and other
networking luncheons.

POSITION: West Coast Marketing & Sales Coordinator

Organized 18 locations for western area multi-site connectivity
seminars for reseller management and end users. Project managed
deliverables including trade show booth design, booth location, set
up and shipping arrangement for NetWorld. Worked with the Marcom
group to develop invitations, announcement and trade show collateral.
Contacted trade show attendee prospects provided by sales and
marketing to review benefits and to close on prospect attendance.
Additionally, I coordinated travel arrangements for western area
sales group,interfaced with 25 resellers on co-op advertising
campaigns and packaging. Published press releases, and disbursed
yearly budget for trade shows.
