(Silicon Valley/SF Bay Area, California)
Duration : Fulltime Position
Our client is looking for a senior database engineer.
The individual will be responsible for developing
reporting modules for an advanced caching technology
software. The individual will be responsible for:
* Designing
* Developing
* Requirements refinement with other members of the
engineering and marketing teams
* Coding and debugging
Skills:
* A strong working knowledge of Oracle and Cloudscape;
experience with other relational databases is a plus
(SQL Server, Sybase, Interbase)
* Strong Java programming skills (JDBC, JNI, Servlets,
etc.)
* Strong C programming experience is a plus
* Database optimization
* Srong SQL skills
* SQL optimization
* Database programming optimization in Java
environments
* Good database design skills both logical and
physical
* Good transaction design skills
* Strong UNIX skills (Solaris, Linux)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience:
* 6+ years of experience
* Experience with high volume OLTP and decision
support systems experience
* 4+ years experience with relational and object
oriented database technologies
* 2+ years of experience in Java programming
* 2+ years programming in a UNIX environment
* Experience with highly concurrent systems
* Familiarity with Java extensions for Oracle and/or
Cloudscape
