I'm looking for a reasonably priced (ie cheap) co-location facility
located in the San Jose area. I have a need for alot of disk space
but not heavy throughput - its a music database and publication of
limited interest but already consuming nearly 500mb of storage and
soon to triple. I have a server and the knowledge to support it (unix
sysadmin by trade), but our welcome is up at the company that's
allowed us to camp on its internet feed.

I would use DSL except my home is greater than 19,000 feet from the
CO (my neighbor is a pacbell tech and comfirmed the distance himself).
The other people involved either can't get DSL either or live out
of the area.

The cheapest I've found are several co-lo's that start at $300. I'm
looking for something in the $150 range. I'd only consume one shelf,
one 10-Base-T drop, 1-3 IP addresses.

The other option might be someone/some company out there with unused
space in racks. I could offer $funds$ or work out a trade for Unix
support, etc. Or, is there's some co-op looking to share space - that
would be good...

All reasonable leads & suggestions most appreciated. Maybe I'm
overlooking other options so if you've come up with a different
solution I'm all ears.

Netgate.net in Santa Clara. They used to charge $200/Mo. Talk to them and
perhaps you will be able to reduce that price.
