Anyone else having a similar problem? Can anyone suggest an
alternative att smtp server? Or know what may be up?
thanks.
Just sent an email message, 6:54 PST, and it went out without any
problem.
Hmm ... thanks Gerry.
I'm wondering what trouble shooting steps i can try? Any suggestions?
I'm using the latest thunderbird, 2.0.0.18, and have ssl selected,
user name and password authentication, port 445.
I can receive mail via pop fine, but sending with the above
configuration fails.

Right you are, 445 was a typo. It was correctly set to 465.
You can also try port 587.
