So, The Well is moving its hosts to a Time Warner IP address.

What does this mean??

Is Time Warner buying Salon??

Companies move public webservers to different hosting
companies all the time, and that could easily explain
the fact that they are on a "Time Warner IP address".
Time Warner provides connectivity to all sorts of
unaffiliated companies, they are in the ISP/internet
transit business.

BTW - did you determine this by the hostnames or by
who owns the IP address space according to ARIN?

Just by the IP address space.

OK, well then all it really tells us is who The Well is
getting connectivity from. Only if The Well was large
enough to have a reason to register their own block of
address space, would those addresses show as registered
directly to them. They may even have such address space
for their internal network, but not for their public
hosted web servers.
