i use Sonic {sonoma interconnect} and am quite happy. They treat
people right and seem to stay on top of things. There are problems of
course that rise up now and then. But, I imagine all would agree,
nothing is trouble free 100 % of the time.

: I don't think Sonic.net covers any of Marin Co., but NBN does. Our San
: Rafael POP is local to both northern Marin and Point Richmond. Send
: email to in...@nbn.com to get more info and prices.
We only cover as far south as Novato - we've got a number in Petaluma that
serves that area. We are primarily a Sonoma County provider.
As for references - _I_ recommend NBN highly!

: Anyone know if these numbers are still correct?
Yes, the info is all correct..
: If I'm wrong please correct me but NBN does seem to offer domain name
: registration and I couldn't find any indication that Sonic does.
Sonic does, plus we offer multihoming - a virtual server under NCSA that
gets you a root level URL. $23 per month. DNS registration is $45, one
time, plus the $100 for the first two years that Internic will bill you
seperatly for. See http://www.sonic.net/domadm/ for more info on both of
these.
Note that all accounts include 36 megs of storage for your own www or ftp
space, and cgi access is available at no charge.
: BTW John, both Ken and Bc recommend NBN highly.
As would I. NBN is our T1 provider, and their service has always been very
reliable and solid. John Harkin knows his stuff, and is a very nice person
to work with.
I think either way you go, you'll be happy - note that NBN has dialups
reaching much further south than we do, so if you're in other areas of Marin
County, NBN would be a better choice - we routinely recommend them for folks
in San Rafael, etc. And of course, if you're often in Sonoma County, Sonoma
Interconnect would be a great choice.
