Features
The Bolder Sounds Bluegrass Banjo V3 is a sample library for Kontakt 4 and higher. It requires the full version of Kontakt and does not work with the free Kontakt Player. The library has a size of 1.52 GB after Kontakt compression, and contains over 3600 samples. The samples are recorded in 24-bit/44.1 kHz quality, and cover all the strings and frets of the banjo up to the 17th fret.

The library offers up to 5 independent round-robin samples per key, for each of the 5 strings of the banjo. This means that you will hear a different sample every time you play the same note, adding realism and variation to your playing. You can also choose from 5 different pluck positions along the string length of the banjo, which affect the tone and timbre of the instrument. You can either use key switches to select the pluck positions, or use a velocity-based system that allows you to adjust the velocity ranges for each position.

The library also includes various articulations that are essential for banjo playing, such as hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, harmonics, and Scruggs D-Tuner bends. These articulations are triggered by key switches or velocity levels, and have 2 independent round-robin samples per key. You can also control the pitch bend and vibrato of the banjo with your MIDI controller, using a smart scripting system that mimics the natural behavior of the instrument.

Another feature of the library is the fretting position control, which allows you to change the position of your virtual hand on the neck of the banjo. This affects the sound and resonance of the instrument, as well as the availability of certain notes and articulations. You can either manually select the fretting position with a slider or a key switch, or use an auto fret selection feature that automatically chooses the best position based on your playing.

The library also comes with 379 MIDI files that contain realistic banjo arpeggios and chords in various styles and keys. You can use these MIDI files as a starting point for your own compositions, or as a learning tool to understand how to play the banjo. The MIDI files are organized into folders according to tempo, key, and style.

Finally, the library offers 8 different effects that you can apply to your banjo sound, such as EQ, compression, reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, phaser, and distortion. Each effect has its own preset menu where you can save and recall your settings. You can also adjust the volume and pan of each string individually, as well as the overall output level of the instrument.

Sound Quality
The Bolder Sounds Bluegrass Banjo V3 sounds very realistic and expressive, thanks to the high-quality samples and the advanced scripting system. The banjo has a rich and warm tone that can fit well in various musical contexts, from bluegrass to folk to country to rock. The pluck position control allows you to change the tone and timbre of the instrument easily, from bright and crisp to mellow and soft. The articulations are smooth and natural sounding, adding life and movement to your playing. The pitch bend and vibrato control are very responsive and realistic, allowing you to create subtle or dramatic modulations with your MIDI controller.

The fretting position control is also very useful for changing the sound and resonance of the instrument, as well as for accessing different notes and articulations on the neck of the banjo. The MIDI files are very helpful for creating authentic banjo patterns and chords quickly and easily. The effects are also well designed and easy to use, adding depth and character to your sound.
