Then at some point Alta Mira subcontracted the restaurant to Il Fornaio
and while still OK, the food became chain-restaurant boring.
Finally, the last straw. The restaurant is now closed for ordinary
dining and only accomodates private parties.
And so it goes.
Where, now, to take tourists for a meal with that kind of view?
Thanks,

That's a shame. Maybe one of these will help ease the pain:
Alta Mira Special (Ramos Fizz)
6 oz gin
4 egg whites
Juice of 2 lemons
8 tsp sugar
12 drops orange flower water
2 oz Orange Curacao
12 oz half & half
Place ingredients into blender with small amount of shaved ice.
Strain into chimney glass, dust with nutmeg and serve (serves 4).

Good question. Guaymas?

It has been years since I've been there, but there used to be a
similar place called Horizon. Great views, and the food was
better than might reasonably be expected. I don't know if it
even exists now though.
Another place with a good view and good food is Guaymas
in Tiburon. It's an upscale Mexican place with a good view.
Not as good a view as from Sausalito though...
